Guest guest
Yesterday, I was reading chapter 8 or " FIBROMYALGIA, The Essential Guide For Patients and Their Families. " This chapter deals with it being all in our heads, or the psychological connections with FM. There's a very interesting chart in the chapter showing how if we have a family history of mental illness, it sets us up for FM. Well, my paternal grandfather was hospitalized for schizophrenia around 1925 when my dad was born. I don't know that I trust the diagnosis they gave him as back then mental illness was not as detailed and defined as it is these days. Nonetheless, the history is definately there. It does a good job of explaining how the whole ball of wax rolls into a diagnosis of FM along with the psychological issues of depression and anxiety. I guess it just makes me feel a little bit better knowing that I didn't bring on this monster on my own, but had help from genetics. That's all for now.
