Guest guest
Amy.... My daughter had a hard time with bowel movements, as well...though the dr. had me supplementing which could have added to the problem. It is not uncommon for breastfed babies to go as long at 10-11 days without a movement. My daughter went 3-4 days at a time. Usually this doesn't happen until after the first 6 weeks, though. If your child is straining a lot, then you may want to talk to the doctor. S/he might recommend something luke sugar water. Anyway, one thing that I found helpful was to put Maeve in an infant chair right after she ate. In the words of our former doctor...it is not easy to poop lying down! That helped a lot. HOpe this helps...I know this is worrisome, but I don't think that uncommon. Terry
