Guest guest
The sun shines, and it does not care whether the creatures who receive its rays are intelligent or stupid, good or criminal, deserving of its blessings or not. It sends light to them all without distinction. This is why the sun is said to be the best illustration of divine love. Consider the most extraordinary beings who have lived on earth: all of them have had a few prejudices, a few biases, and even a few animosities. Yes, even the greatest prophets, even the greatest masters have not been able to free themselves completely from resorting to the laws of justice and punishing the wicked, because freeing oneself in this way is extremely difficult. Only the sun regards human beings in the same way God Himself does, knowing that they are divine sparks which will one day return to the bosom of the Eternal. This is why, over thousands of years, he patiently continues to warm them, enlighten them, and vivify them. Surely this example is sufficient to stimulate us? -Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov
Guest guest
It's been a long time since my plaquenil treatmeent. What I remember the most is how important it is to geet annual or smi-annual eye exams as plaqunil can damage your eyes, if caught in time the affects are reversible. Mtx on the other hand does intensify the affects of the sun, I used to get darker than anyone I knew, and I'm paying for it with melasma now. Sunscreen is always important, take it from someone who knows. The extra effort will pay off for the rest of your life. ladeyangll ________________________________ From: doreen bivens <scisspl@...> Sent: Sun, March 20, 2011 8:56:30 PM Subject: [ ] The Sun  Hello everyone, My name is Doreen and I have been newly dignosed, about a year ago, with RA. I am asking here because I dont see my Dr. until June and I will be in the sun before that and I dont want any problems. Thank You Doreen Bivens
Guest guest
I just looked up the word melasma, and that is what my face looked like. Last year I was in NY most of the summer but I came home to Florida for two weeks. I played outside and my face was all blotchy brown. I thought the only difference at the time was the plaqunil I wasn't put on Arava until September. I live in Florida, right on the gulf of Mexico, we have boats, jet ski's and a pool. I live in the sun. I went outside for a half hour I protected my face because of last year, but I got a little itchy. I am making an appt. with a Dermatologist. Thank you for the information. I have lots of things wrong with me and I tend to blame everything on them instead of " thinking " , so now I am thinking,(for now) thanks! Guest guest
Your welcome. Prednisone reacts w the sun also. My dermatologist said the best thing to help melasma is to use good sunscreen. From my research I've read that discontinuing what is causing the melasma is the best solution. Othere than that nuquin can help BUT it can mae it worse also, it makes mine worse. What has helped me the most is Vita K, recommended by my dermatologist. I also regularly use glycolic acid, Glytone is what my dermatologist recommended and it's the cheapest one I've used and seems to be affective. Luckily I have a dermatologist now who is not out to take your money! I've also found that most cover up products do not work for melasma, they make it look worse. Finding a make up that fits your skin tone well, sometimes a search for me, with medium to full coverage has ben the best make up fix I've found.  Good luck. Melasma is something I believe insurance companies should cover, it is unsightly and embarrassing. My entire face has benefitted from what I am using to combat it though. I'm sporting a tight clear face and plan on keping it up the rest of my life lol! Oh a llil bit of botox does wonders to pull it all together, I'm a firm believer.  ladeyangll ________________________________ From: doreen bivens <scisspl@...> Sent: Mon, March 21, 2011 10:43:53 AM Subject: [ ] Re: The Sun  I just looked up the word melasma, and that is what my face looked like.
