Guest guest
I now live in Abilene TX, I spent 18 years in Iowa. The Dr I now have seems to blame every flare up I have on the change in weather systems. I think I am having more now than I ever did in Iowa but the weather change? I can see small changes from that considering we arent talking major weather changes. But for it to be blamed for the major flare up I am now in? I dont think so! Guest guest
A lot of flares do get triggered by the weather, so I guess your doc just wants to you to fit into the same mold. But there really isn't just one mold for us FM'ers. We all have our own. Jeanne in WI >I now live in Abilene TX, I spent 18 years in Iowa. Guest guest
Hi y'all, I've had major flares in all kinds of weather. I think maybe the achy, fluish kind of pain and the fog are worse when the weather is yo yoing. But the just bad pain can happen to me in any type of weather. Here's hoping for less pain all around, Marti Dave and Jeanne wrote: A lot of flares do get triggered by the weather, so I guess your doc just wants to you to fit into the same mold. Guest guest
True, Im not even a mold unto myself. What worked before doesnt always work again for me. I am still working out things that may help me. My biggest issues are still the pain at night and it keeping me awake. --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile. Try it now. Guest guest
I agree. I think the cold does make my pain and aching worse. It got cold outside and my body is screaming. hugs, Debra V. Guest guest
Fibro like to act up when it wants to. There really is not one answer anywhere to why it does what it does. I blame it on the weather alot. But some days I can't tell what caused it to act up. I do believe that it might have something to do with barometric pressure sometimes though. hugs, Debra V. krisann_coulter wrote: > > I now live in Abilene TX, I spent 18 years in Iowa. Guest guest
I agree wholeheartedly. As soon as I think I have something to blame it on, the beast gets me some other way. It seems to rear its ugly hear wherever and whenever it wants to. Take care, Marti debra van ness wrote: Fibro like to act up when it wants to. Guest guest
Our weather is in the process of changing - getting cold again, so here I am, an aching, throbbing disaster area! But I am less than SIX days from seeing a rheumatologist (and I see my endocrinologist on Monday so she may be able to prescribe something as well).......trying to hold it all together sometimes is not easy; I feel like I'm going nuts or something! I forget the simplest things (phone numbers I've dialed for 7+ years) and have taken to writing important things down (i.e. if I have an asthma attack and have to use my inhaler/nebulizer because every flippin' time the pulmonologist asks, I cannot remember the events that triggered. So this time, I wrote it down!). I know that my PCP has said that I am severely immunosuppressed due to the sheer amount of meds/steroids, etc. I have had over the past 2+ years, plus the bronchitis and pneumonia that regularly show their pleasant selves. I am now chronic mono, having had 2 positive EBV/mono tests in the past six months. I try to keep moving and going, but today has been really tough. I've been on the verge of tears all day - and my poor DH, who is trying to lay a new floor down to help with mine and our daughter's allergies and my asthma is so wiped out, I don't dare unload on him. So I came here instead. My hands hurt, but they hurt more NOT to move than to move, if that makes sense. I am beyond exhausted, but cannot sleep (yet, anyhow....need some laundry done!). I think part of my problem/issue is that having to be out and about so much, I cannot take the meds they've given me for fear of snoozing while I drive! So I cannot get ahead of the pain. And I know, from raising my boys, as well as surgical procedures over the years, that if I can get a handle on it, I can handle it - if that makes sense. Right now, I cannot get a handle and therefore cannot handle! Darlene > A lot of flares do get triggered by the weather, so I guess your doc just > wants to you to fit into the same mold.
