Guest guest
girlsaylor:I had been in the hospital because of chest pains and they did a cartoid ultrasound and found that the left cartoid artery was clogged about 75-80%. The cartoid surgeon told me to come into his office in a couple of weeks and we would talk more about my situation. I tried going back to work, but I just was not feeling good at all. I was having passing out spells all the time, things just did not seem right to me. I call the surgeon's office and asked if I could move my appointment up. I went into see him and he told me that there was another test he wanted done so I had the Angiogram. The Angiogram showed it was blocked 80-85%. So surgery was scheduled and my left cartoid artery was cleaned out and I missed three weeks of work. The surgeon told me after he did the surgery that the artery was clogged more than he had expected it to be. He had to do a longer incision to get all of the artery cleaned out. I have to go back to him in a year and half to two years to have the Ultrasound done again and possibly another angiogram. I told him I would do the Ultrasound again, but I would not do the angiogram again because I thru a blood clot a couple days after the angiogram. Right now I am not having any problems as far as the cartoid arteries are concerned. The only real problems I am having is with my Fibromyalgia and Lupus. A friend had tests and I can't remember exactly what happened or the sequence, but someone at the DR's office missed some information and she threw a clot and almost died from it, then it was discovered that when they cleared a femral artery, they used a material that should only be used on older patients, so she had to go have surgery again to have new material used to replace the first. But what has been bugging me for several years is that for a number of years, I would have to schedule an ultra sound of my cartoid artery (also the left one) but my present doctor, who very well may have been the second one to send me in to have it check, never seems to see that in my charts. Of course, I can't be certain how much info the practice I saw between the time I first saw her and then began going to her again, sent when they sent her my records. Although, she can seem rather scattered and not as on top of things as she was in the past --- which does concern me, except that we are moving in 5 months (can only hope nothing serious happens in that time!) > ______________________________________________________________________ ______________ > Looking for last minute shopping deals? > Find them fast with Yahoo!
