Dear Dr. :

You have no idea how depressed and self absorbed I have become due to this

retched disease. I'm a 46 yr. old women and I think still attractive but this

rosacea business has got me down because just when you figure how to fix one

thing this disease presents you with another. It's an exhausting battle that

sometimes makes me feel like screaming. I keep thinking to myself, ( Self,

what have you done to deserve this?) In any event onward and upward, I hope!

LOL :0)

I would think that our beloved (ahummmm) rosacea review people the ones we

get the newsletters from should be able to figure that one out but I guess

not:0( Good luck.

The problem with Dr. Nase is that his book seems to be taking forever and I

feel that he is not attainable. I've been a member for almost a year now and

I keep hearing about his book but have yet to see anything concrete. I

realize books and publishing take awhile but I wish he'd hurry I'm tired of

waiting. No offense toward him intended. Just my feelings.

I know how that goes! What makes it worse is that no doctor, outside

of Drs. Sy and Nase, really knew how to help or seemed to care.

Following the suggestions on the list has helped my self-esteem

immensely.

Hi ,

My face used to itch a lot in the early stages before I found what worked

for me. It was very depressing. I used to pray and say I didn't even care

anymore how my face looked, if I could just get it to feel better! Well, now

it not only feels better, but it also looks great (with makeup to hide the

underlying redness that is still there).

What helped me most was switching to very gentle products, and then the

A/R Cream from Purple Emu eliminated the remainder of the itchiness for me.

My wonderful gentle soap is Herbal and Olive Soap by Kiss My Face. A gentle

moisturizer I love is Herbal Fragrance-Free Moisturizing Lotion by Nature's

Gate. Both products should be in your Health Food store. The Acne/cea

Cream is from www.purpleemu.com. I apply it at night on top of my

moisturizer. Use just a little of it, or it can sting. Even now, after

months of use, it sometimes stings just a bit at first, but I leave it on

because it's soooo wonderful. It got rid of all my itchy, inflammed areas,

and all my pimples, and if I use just a teensy bit every night, it acually

prevents 99% of the pimples from ever forming. The ones that do form, are

quickly zapped with a little extra of the A/R Cream.

These products have all been terrific for me. I don't know if you'll be

as fortunate, but good luck to you.

One problem that remains for me, and may be a factor for you, is that my

skin is sensitive to artificial light - flourescent and incandescent. It

causes a burning/itchy feeling when I get too much exposure to either kind to

either kind of lighting.

has anyone tried the A/R cream from purple emu for the redness of rosacea?

I don't have the acne, only the redness and ws wondering if the AR cream

would help.

Hi Gloria,

The A/R Cream is great for acne and the redness due to the inflammation

that sometimes accompanies the acne. However, so far it hasn't done much of

anything (I've been using it for six months) for the underlying redness.

That seems to be vascular rather than inflammatory(?). However, I don't want

to say that it absolutely won't over time, as I had been using it more as a

spot treatment, and have just in the last few weeks been using a small amount

of it overall every night as a preventative. If I notice any improvement in

overall redness with this continued usage, I'll post about it. However, I'm

not real optimistic in that regard.
