Guest guest
I was reading the list highlights (I'm new to this list) and was interested to see a few postings relating rosacea to possible aspartame overconsumption. While this is clearly considered a myth by many people, it interested me very much because the only three people I have known with rosacea also drank a lot of diet cola (or once did, in my case). Since I stopped using aspartame two months ago I have noticed considerably less flushing, though the rest of my rosacea symptoms are the same. I'd like to hear any thoughts other group members have on this subject.
Guest guest
Amazing -- me too -- verbatim. Thought I was the only person in the world who could even taste the aftertaste. ----Original Message Follows---- To: rosacea-supportegroups Subject: RE: diet--aspartame? Guest guest
I grew up drinking diet cola (DietRite and Tab) and then became a Diet Coke fiend in college. I drank several cans a day until a year and a half ago, when I decided to eliminate aspartame from my diet. Within a few days I lost the weird tingling sensation I had in my fingers and toes, and my constant trips to the bathroom ceased. However, my skin didn't look any better or worse. It didn't start to improve until I found this group and totally changed my skincare regimen. Jill

I'd rather drink (or eat) sugar, which is a natural food, than a chemical alternative. Suzanne
Guest guest
In general, I don't eat or drink anything with aspartame, although on a very rare occasion I will have a diet A & W rootbeer. I really don't care for soda, except for A & W.
