Guest guest
You might ask the dr if they can provide samples of the lyrica for you to try. My insurance doesn't cover it either, so I can understand. Adela wrote: Grrr..... Guest guest
yes I have migraines. but I use a preventive for that. a beta blocker, And it works well. but maybe they can cover the Lyrica for that, I will call them tomorrow and see if they will cover. Thanks for that tip. I got a seven day trial of the Lyrica so if it works I will fight for it, I will start the Lyrica tonight. I will let the group know how it goes. Adela Re: grr... insurance won't cover Lyrica , i was actually given my first script of the lyria by a neuro doctor that my rheumy doctor sent me to for the migraines. this got my rheumy doctor to laugh as she wanted them to do a headache work up before she prescribed the lyrica. so do you have migraines. i have bc/bs and they have covered it so far. But as far as your insurance goes,it may be covered as an anti-depressant. My psychiatrist was the one that prescribed mine. Might be worth checking into. Guest guest
Wait. Isn't Lyrica advertised on TV as a medication for fibromyalgia? I'm losing my mind. Guest guest
Yes Tigger, Lyrica was rx for Fibro as of june 2007. I was taking it since Feb 2007 because I am also diabetic so I had no problem. You can probably get the info from the FDA for the medical plan. If they are confused tell them to watch the fibro comercial that states it is the only drug currently approved by the fda for fibro. Everything eles is just what drs are using to treat symptoms. How are you doing? This weather roller coaster is driving me crazy. My toes are purple uder my nails most of the time. They are also usually freezing. My fingernails are like that about 50% of the time. I guess that the craziness of the diabetes is now effecting them. JudyMer ---- Tigger wrote: > Wait. Guest guest
Oh my goodness! Why are the ads saying that is specifically for FM then? That is ridiculous. These darn insurance companies and their stupid rules. I sure hope it gets worked out and that your doctor will give you something else for pain in the meantime. Have you ever tried tramadol(Ultram)? Guest guest
Lots of times it is the company you work for that decides what medications will be covered and what will not. It may not be the the insurance company per se that is denining(sp?) the payment but your company. I learned this from HR people from companies I have worked for. Good luck in finding a way to get it covered. Christi in Texas
