Yuppers, I download headers each and every day although I'm not

reading it much. I think you can access it through deja.com-- there's

a button near the top of the screen for accessing usenet. Otherwise

you need a newsreader and they all work differently.

You have the correct name in the subject header, except you need a

dash between 12 and steps:

alt.recovery.from-12-steps

Pete:

If you don't have a Usenet Newsgroup Reader. You can use either Deja.com or

Remarq.com to post and read that newsgroup.

You'll have to create an account with them first which gets to be a pain in

the backside remembering all your accounts and passwords but it's possible.

If you've got either Outlook (free version) or Netscape they each have

newsgroup readers. Simply start them up go to their news sections and

download the list of all the newsgroups your internet service provider

provides access to, then search for that particular newsgroup and subscribe

to it.

Be advised that not all providers provide access to all Usenet newsgroups.

You shouldn't have a problem though. If you do just go to Deja or Remarq I

believe they each have access to them. I prefer Deja, for general reading,

because I use the original web format, not the new one, which allows me to

sift through massive amounts of posts quickly to narrow in on the

information I want also it allows you track forums so you can access them

rather easily.

alt.recovery.from-12-steps would be the name of the forum you're searching

and posting to on Deja.

news:alt.recovery.from-12-steps If you've got a newsreader installed and

working properly on your computer and you're online with a service provider

that provides access to it the above link should take you to that newsgroup.

News Flash: Just wanted to verify what I posted about remarq and Deja

before I sent it. Remarq has been acquired by CriticaPath and it's going

the subscription route. Definitely not worth it no matter what the cost.

Use www.deja.com .

LOL--I looked out of curiosity, and had the sudden, eerie feeling

that I'd seen it somewhere before...
