Guest guest
Thanks! I need to call and check on the status today. I've just been so busy the past few days and it is frustrating that there is just NOT enough hours in the day. I have put new front tie rods, back brakes, wind shield, fixed door hinge, window in this car. If I had thought to change the timing belt this wouldn't have happened at all. My father is a very frugal man and smart. We both agreed that as much as it seems like we may be throwing the money into the car that it is better the devil we know than don't. Most likely, I wouldn't be able to get a descent used car for 4K. I would end up with something from a side of the road place that could be worse in terms of future repairs than keeping the one I have. Plus, I CANNOT afford a car payment right now. At all. So even with 4K to throw down on a used car and with my sh**ty a** credit I would be so screwed in that department. My student loans go out of default in May and my credit will be rehabbed then. Plus, I'm still in the bankruptcy period where that affects things. I had my bankruptcy in 2005 so that won't totally " clear " until 2012. But in the meanwhile, if I can get the credit a bit better, make a bit more money, in another year or two I will hopefully be in a position to replace the car. Believe me, I would love to replace my car with a newer one. But I do love my car and I had to fight tooth and nail to keep it. My ex-husband thought that he would just sell the car and finances his trip across the country to " leave me " . Uh... no. My dad bought him out of that half of the car. I guess I kind of consider it my divorce settlement. Thanks to everyone for the well wishes and thoughts. ~ > > , > I wont berate you, I know the exact position you are in as far as > fixing a car.
