Guest guest
I have heard of Lidocaine patches, but not iv therapy. interesting. How does this work? Lori wrote: Hi, Have any of you ever heard of or had IV lidocaine therapy for your pain? I was recently diagnosed with Central Pain Syndrome and this is a treatment option. Thanks, Lori 1. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general. 2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation better. 3. To unsubscribe the e-mail is: Fibromyalgia_Support_Group-unsubscribe 4. Also, it is not uncommon for more than one member to be feeling bad at the same time when it comes to flares and b/c of that potentially take something another member says the wrong way. And that includes the things that one member may find funny (even if it's laughing at fibro itself) even though we who deal with illness whether one such as fibro or multiple illnesses try to keep a sense of humor. 5. Pls let's be gentle with each other, and if you are having a bad day pls let us know so that we can do our best to offer our support. Have a nice day everyone. Guest guest
dr. teitelbaum uses it, he is the medical director for the fibro/fatigue centers around the country. i have no financial interest in his efforts, i just recently bot and am reading his book, but he uses the iv lidocain and iv vit/mineral therapy for fibro/cfids patients and many get good improvement with it. i have not made an appointment at one of the clinics because of the expense, but i may end up going because they follow teitelbaum's protocal, from what i understand. take care and let us know if you do get the iv therapy and how it works, marg Hi, > > Have any of you ever heard of or had IV lidocaine therapy for your > pain? Guest guest
It is supposed to desensitize the nerve endings is my understanding. I am going to try it on the 28th - hope it helps, I'm a mess right now. Lori Hi, > > Have any of you ever heard of or had IV lidocaine therapy for your > pain? I have to say that I went to the center here in early October, got the shopping bag of supplements, the scripts including one that they had a compounding pharmacist prepare, a vitamin B shot and then 5 minutes away to have an inordinatly large number of vials of blood drawn for testing. My follow-up appointment was in 3 weeks. During those three weeks, I got worse, and worse! So bad that it was a great excuse not to go with my husband to visit his mother and step- father. During the second visit, another vitamin B shot AND the IV of what ever it was. After the amount of money the visits, the vitamins, the drugs, the shots, the IV'S, and not getting any better even after the second visit (I know, supposedly you will feel bad before you feel better because you are " detoxing " , but the cost, the time, etc. just was not worth it to me.) That was my second time of seeing someone who claimed they HAD done studies and had come up with a cure! That person had done a study --- 400 people, which, after working in pharma companies I don't think is large enuff and again a shopping bag of supplements, I am not going to jump on any one's bandwagon because I rather equate most of these " healers " with the snake oil hawsters of the 19th/early 20th century!!! Rather like all of the various forms of so-called heart meds my uncle said they discovered in my grandmother's medicine cabinet following her death in 1937. No offense to anyone here, but my theory is " fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me! " So no more miracle cures for me.\
Guest guest
Would you have to be hospitlized for this? I know Lidocaine works pretty good in the pain patches or I've also used an ointment. I guess I don't understand how it could have any long-term effect. Guest guest
I look forward to hearing how this works for you. I hope it works great. Take care.
