Well Jan,

I have looked in every book that would apply and some that didn't and nothing

came up. Are you sure this thing exists? Sorry, I couldn't be more help.

angioscale catheter.. capped or not?

I found hits on Google capped, uncapped, and all caps. Gee.. that's a lot

of help .. NOT. Grrr. Anybody know if angioscale is a brand name or not?

TIA.

Thanks for looking. He seems to think it exists anyway :) It's possible he was

murdering Angio-Seal or some other kind of catheter. <sigh>

I had emailed a coworker and asked her to check her Stedman's surgery books

since I don't have those, and she couldn't find it either. Oh well, we tried :)

I didn't think that was it .. he said angioscale pretty clearly, but it wouldn't

be the first time a doctor " murdered " the name of something would it? :)

Angio-Seal is a device for closing puncture wounds created in arteries

during diagnostic and therapeutic catheterizations such as angiography,

angioplasty, and stent placement.

The following .pdf file shows Angioscale as a brand name:

http://www.medical.philips.com/news/publications/assets/documents/mm_vol44_no2/m\

m_vol44_no2_article_imaging_techniques_for_endovascular.pdf

" The first step of the procedure is an overview subtraction angiogram with a

calibrated pigtail catheter (Angioscale ® , Guidant, Menlo Park, Calif. USA)

positioned at the level of the renal arteries. "
