I lived in Bartlett for 5 years!!! 2 on Altruria near the elementary school and

the rest in the Quail Ridge golf course subdivision.... as for the doctor

issue; I never really had one I was particularly fond of. As a matter of fact I

had trouble finding a GP that would even listen to me about my sinuses. There

was a medical center on Kirby Whitten, a block or two behind the Piggly Wiggly

that I found the doctors to be a bit better than most of the other ones in town.

Avoid the medical center on the main road out toward the mall, on the left hand

side; if its still there. They run people through there like cattle and you are

lucky if you get five minutes with the doctor.

Find a Doctor in Memphis, TN

Hi everyone,

My name is . I'm new to this group. I'm 47 years old and have

been living with fibromyalgia since 1988, diagnosed since 1999. I am

looking for a good doctor in the Memphis area, I live in Bartlett. I

have yet to find one that truly understands fibromyalgia and will treat

me without just throwing pain pills at me. Any ideas? I'd also like to

talk to any other sufferers in my area. Thanks.

I have never used a doctor in the Memphis area but there is a

wonderful doctor in his name is Aelion

I went to him for awhile and then moved to North Carolina and now I am

searching for one near Wilmington area or Raliegh, I went to

an " arthritis " clinic here and the doctor did not even touch me and

charged 200 dollars, that was a joke. He told me right off that he did

not treat fibro and no one there did, and I asked when I made the appt

if they were familiar with fibro and did they treat it, Oh yes was the

reply, now 200 later I know better.

Hi Angie,

I actually used to go that group; although to the Cordova office. The

doctor I went to overprescribed me narcotic pankillers and znti-

anxiety drugs. They and I didn't go to well together, and we have a

mutual agreement that I won't go there again. I live between Hwy. 70

and Germantown Road, Not too far from Quail Ridge. Been in the same

house since 1984! I see the nurse practioner at my GP's office now

and she's compassionate, but I feel like I'm rushed through like

cattle being herded. I guess I don't really know what I'm looking

for, I guess a dr that doesn't look at my history and see FM and

depression and think that everything I go in for is either related to

the FM or all in my head! Thanks for the advice.

I had a lot of trouble with doctors there. I even went to Germantown a few

times. I don't think I saw the same doctor more than 3 times. Only one I liked

there at all was my GYN; who did my hystero. I think maybe that's why I never

got any real diagnosis until I moved here. Because I kept switching GPs around

and they would never get your history or even listen to what I told them. Plus

you could never get an appointment with them for almost a week.

No wonder I forgot about my hiatal hernia. None of them ever acknowledged I had

it; even though I had brought medical records with me. My sinuses where my

worst problem there aside from the gyno stuff. I had to fight with them every

time to treat me; and they'd always insist on giving me something that never

worked first. Then I'd go back. Then I'd have to go back again. Took at least

3 trys to even make a dent in my infections.

There was an old guy on Hwy 70 just past the Sonic across the street that had

retired and then went back to work part time. He was really nice, but the nurse

in the front office was a bear. I'm thinking it was something like Caballero?

I imagine he's re-retired by now.

Yeah it was another doctor that practiced in his office part time. I can't

remember his name. I don't know if I every saw Hugo himself. I don't remember.

He had a nurse in the Bartlett office that was really mean. Maybe she isn't

there anymore; or perhaps that's why you went to the Germantown office. I used

to go to Gtown too. It didn't matter when I was working down by the airport

Gtown was actually closer. Good Luck!!
