My newest grandson is 9 months old and weighs 24 pounds and when I hold him

I feel NO PAIN! Of course after he leaves is a different story but he is

more than worth the lingering pain afterward. And I may not be the most

physical grandma but I may be the most loving and that counts for something I am

sure.

Congratulations Lori. Wonderful news. You will be a good grandmother. That

baby will feel nothing but love from you. You will probably spoil the child

rotten. Don't let the old fibro put you on a guilt trip. It will limit you

physically but it won't make any difference because the love that baby will have

for you won't be any less.

It was fun I have to admit. But this will be my own Grandchild. And I do not

know what to feel. My son is 30 years old so it is time, But what good can I be

with this fibro. His girlfriend has a son who is one year old he wanted me to

pick him up so I did but at my own extent. Buster is a cutie that is the one she

has from another relationship.

Am I ready to be a grandma or just disappointed about what I may not be the

grandma I want to. Only because my body will not let me! I am so happy but sad

in the same token. I am so torn right now.

What greater gift is there then that of a grandchild that I have waited for 30

years for. my oldest that is going to be a daddy called the other morning

and was so excited he heard the baby's heart beat. I guess I just do not know

how to act and I am frightened to death that I will not be able to take care of

them.

My son is the one that has the same birth date as me. day is . Sorry got carried

away just kind of in shock I think!

IU hpoe ot os a girl. Then I can go nuts. when we had kids unless grandparents

gave them new clothes they didn't much. Alot of hand me downs. Now that we are

alittle more now than then, So I can go nuts alittle? She if it is a she or he

will get Harley son Clothes.Expensive but good quality.

Congrats on the new grandbaby. I think you will be a great Grandma, despite the

fibro. You can give your love and affection to the new baby. That is at least

something you can freely give, despite your illness..

1. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as

to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some

treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain

health conditions or just dangerous in general.

2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be

afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation

better.

4. Also, it is not uncommon for more than one member to be feeling bad at the

same time when it comes to flares and b/c of that potentially take something

another member says the wrong way. And that includes the things that one member

may find funny (even if it's laughing at fibro itself) even though we who deal

with illness whether one such as fibro or multiple illnesses try to keep a sense

of humor.
