Guest guest
Hi Tigger, I would stomp my feet and whine too. I would certainly think you would qualify. Maybe they were looking for people who aren't on any meds or haven't been officially dx. Who knows. It sucks. Marti Tigger wrote: I just saw an ad on TV for a fibro study being done locally. Guest guest
Hi Tigger I feel your pain I had the samething happen to me in September last year, and I'm only on 2 meds and was diagnosed with it in June. The reason why they would not let me participate was because at the time I was working nights, I told the lady guess what I'm sure I'm not the only third shift worker suffering with this. Did not make a difference not to mention they did not want anyone with anxiety disorder I have that also. It does suck. > I just saw an ad on TV for a fibro study being done locally. Guest guest
I wonder why they don't think you qualify! That's just ridiculous! Guest guest
Based on what you wrote, I should have thought that I wouldn't qualify, but you seem to have much stronger symptoms, so I don't understand why they said no to you. Guest guest
Did they ask you about weight loss surgery. That could be a reason you don't qualify since it affects the way you take medication. lisa n.

But that placebo very well could have been the reason, especially if the study is a double blind study (and for anyone not familiar with pharma studies that means they don't know who is taking what until the study is over -- by that I mean the sites that are conducting the studies for the companies)> > _____ >

Guest guest
If someone has more than one health condition going on in addition to fibro that can be a reason to be in a position to not qualify for a study. I would recommend calling back to ask just what all the criteria are because that may give additional clues as to why one doesn't qualify. Guest guest
When doing clinical trials or " studies " you cannot be on any medications for your illness/symptoms. I don't know if you take any or not but I do know that is the main criteria... Hope that helps? Karla
Guest guest
Because it has been 9 years since I worked for a pharmacuetical company as part of a group who did run clinical studies, I don't remember exactly all of the things they look for and what they exclude, so I sent an email to one of my friends who has worked in a number of departments, including the one I was part of, Marge should know what they look for and what can disqualify an individual. > > When doing clinical trials or " studies " you cannot be on any medications for > your illness/symptoms.
