Hi Debra: I get dizzy and light headed off and on for awhile now, and I was always wondering if it was due to the fibro.. I also have some sinus/allergy problems at certain times of the year, plus I am going thru peri-menopause, so I never really know what it could be from, as all the things I do have can cause dizziness.... **************Start the year off right. Guest guest
Hi Deb, Didn't you tell me once you take HCTZ like I do? Hope you also take potassium with it. Otherwise you can get dizzy & light headed when you potassium is low. Most likely something in your metabolism is off. I get dizzy if I get up to fast, like first thing in the morning. hugs, Debbie J -- In Fibromyalgia_Support_Group , debra van ness wrote: > > I have a question for you all. It is strange but the last few days I have periods of being light headed and dizzy. It does not stay for long, just a few seconds and goes away. I take my B/P med. I have checked my blood pressure several times and it seems ok. I never have problems with blood sugar. > > I can be just standing or sitting and all of the sudden I get really light headed. > > I just coughed a minute ago and thought I was going to pass out for a few seconds there. > > Fibro??????? > > hugs, > Debra V. > > > --------------------------------- > Looking for last minute shopping deals? Guest guest
Debbie you are so right. You probably hit the nail on the head. I am going to take a little potassium now. I have some in the medicine cabinet. I also have been getting muscle cramps especially in my feet. Thanks so much friend. I did not even connect that. love, Debra V. deebs87 wrote: Hi Deb, Didn't you tell me once you take HCTZ like I do? Hope you also take potassium with it. Guest guest
I've had that. One thing that gives me that is my sinus issues. The allergies in TX are pretty bad right now, so I'm clogged every day and sometimes I get what I call 'elevator head' Also with a strong cough, I will get light headed too. debra van ness wrote: > I have a question for you all. Guest guest
Debra I have the same thing. I went for weeks once where I couldn't stand up I was so dizzy. the dr. said, oh it will go away. It did for awhile but I still have to get up slowly and learn to stand near a wall or something in case I pass out. Wonderful isn't it! So many problems with this disease. Why can't they do something about them instead of writing us off? Little > > I have a question for you all. It is strange but the last few days I have periods of being light headed and dizzy. Guest guest
It must be related to the fibro but I'm not sure what causes it because I will have days like occasionally and sometimes it will last for a week or more. > > I have a question for you all. Guest guest
Thank you Debra! Glad you knew what I meant. Not everything can be blamed on fibro. Many meds can cause that besides diuretics. Sinus problems like Melody said also can do that. love, Debbie J > > Debbie you are so right. You probably hit the nail on the head. Guest guest
Hi Debra, It can be many things like low potassium, low blood sugar, medications and so on.... which of course you know. My problem when I get dizzy and light headed (i almost fainted in a store once) is low blood sugar. The doc did a test and it was down to 42. the norm is 65- 1hundred something I forget for sure. He said I had 2 eat more often and not skip meals. and that works but sometimes I get preoccupied. But that was my situation. Just thought I'd let you in on that! Have a great night. Guest guest
Its caused by neurally mediated hypotension and can be fixed using an alpha stim. Guest guest
I know that chronic sinus problems are a part of fibro. They sure are for me! I have to irrigate them daily and sometimes allergies still clog them up. Allegra and flonase pretty much every day for me lately. deebs87 wrote: > Thank you Debra! > Glad you knew what I meant. Guest guest
Hi, I didn't know that chronic sinus problems are a part of fibro. I had them long before I had fibro. Is this really the case? Marti Melody wrote: I know that chronic sinus problems are a part of fibro. They sure are for me! I have to irrigate them daily and sometimes allergies still clog them up. Guest guest
Must be going around. I've been getting dizzy spells when I turn my head the wrong way. I'm usually in bed at the time, so it's not like I'm going to hurt myself. It's just like a couple seconds of that " room is spinning " feeling. I've had it before and know it is related to my neck problems. Jeanne in WI > I've had that. One thing that gives me that is my sinus issues. Guest guest
I have chronic sinus problems. Trying to get up the courage to irrigate mine. Guest guest
I use my Ayr flush kit everyday now. My HEB store carries it. It's easy to use also. My sinus are a bit better today finally.
