Guest guest
Hi christi, I'm Judy in Wisconsin, I just joined the group in mid Dec., not real active in posting, but I saw in your post that you were having a tumor removed from your spine. I have what my Doc called a fatty tumor, and can't remember what he called it medically. I have had it for many years and it has become larger. But my doc, chroprator, and RH, all said that it shouldn't cause pain. But when I think back, it seems I might have developed alot of my pain when I asked my doc to look at it. That might go back 12 - 14 years. Is that the same type of tumor you have? Let us know how the stretching goes. My neice that has had fibro for many years and hasn't taken meds, because of pregnancy and nursing. She has been doing yoga and alot of the stretching exercises and she is feeling alot better. So let us know :-) Judy Christi Randall wrote: Thanks Debi for the welcome and yes they meds help. Although the doctor that gave me these are for something else alltogether and my rhemuy that finally diagnosed me yesterday wants meds to be the last resort. I got cortizone (sp?) shots in my shoulders yesterday as I also have really bad brusitis (sp?) so once that settles in by the end of the week I am going to start on gentle stretching of my upper body to see if that will help some of the pain go away. I am not going to stretch the lower back/legs until after I have my back surgery to remove the tumor on my spine. I'm sorry to hear that like so many of us, you had to live so long with the fibro before getting a diagnosis of it. Do you find that the Ultram and Flexiril help with your pain? Love and gentle hugs, Debi/So. Guest guest
Hi Judy, I have a schwannoma on the lower part of my spine that has to be removed. Most of the time it is non-cancerous, but has to be checked. It is also pressing on the nerve that runs down my left hip/leg causing pain if I aggravate it. I am really hoping the stretching helps as I do not want to be on pain meds if I can learn to control my pain other ways (I have an addictive personality and I know it would be real easy FOR ME to rely on the meds). It is good to hear that your niece is doing good with the yoga. My doc suggested pilates. So once I recover from the surgery on my back then I will be looking into something else.
