Guest guest
I just hate seeing people with their hackles up over religion here. While there are many posts on respect and tolerance, it's still creeping in here. I am grateful I had the opportunity to take a course in college called 'Art and World Religions'. We read passages from as many different religious books as we could as tied into each religion's iconic symbols, and immersed ourselves into many cultures in our studies. What I took away from the course was a deep love and respect for all peoples, all religions, and a better, more tolerant 'me'. My wish for this new year is that each one of us can learn and grow. I shall not engage in infighting on religion vs no religion. Let me just say that I came here for support in living with fibromyalgia. I know where my church is when I want to go worship. girlsaylor

It was important to me when I selected this particular FM support group that it was not described as one that subscribed to a particular (or any) religious basis for the group. I am not suggesting that we never refer to our own religious faith or spirituality and/or how that gets us through, but it need not be the central focus of this particular group's focus. Respectful balance?! Perhaps it's a matter of hitting the proverbial last nerve that chronic pain often obliterates by the end of the day. Cheryl M.
