Guest guest
I am confused...I think I fell too far behind this holiday season. jacquie H Re: Stupid Thing Someone Said > <<they gave it those labels like PDDNOS > (which doesn't exist, it was a pathetic attempt to discover a new > disorder),>> Um . . . Guest guest
The orignal post was from me about someone who I met the week before Christmas who was listing off everything *wrong* with her 6 year old and his special ed classes in school and how, when I asked her what was wrong, said that the dr told her he had autistic tendancies and was on the autistic spectrum but was NOT autistic. My question, more or less, what what sort of bullshit dx was that. I really think that this woman would be better off and able to deal with things if someone looked at her and said 'Your son is autistic' where she doesn't have to go through this F'ed up explination when she talks about her son (where people don't look at her weird) and where she can get the services that he really needs and a placement in school that is going to benifit him. Someone suggested that maybe the dr said that he was PDD-NOS and that it wasn't " real " autism. Guest guest
Theoretically anyone can rationalize anything. The more I think about it, the more I think her dr is just an idiot and it is the dr that has her believing that it isn't really autism. I think someone tried to sugar coat something and fed her a line of crap. Just wish that I could have talked to her more without Jayme butting in. Re: Re: Stupid Thing Someone Said > Someone suggested that maybe the dr said that he was PDD-NOS and that it wasn't " real " autism. > Iknow I suggested the Dr said PDD-NOS and she was probably grasping at that as not being autism. I think that it would be easy to do that, if someone were in real denial. Sad, but I think she could convince herself PDD-NOS wasn't autism. :-( Jacquie
