Well said Debra. Let's get the news out to others that we will not tolerate

their disbelief in how much we are in pain from this disease. I am on a

campagin to my family and friends to educate them on Fibro, I make them read

about it and compare what they see to how closely I resemble the symptoms.

go for it girl.

Hugs.

As I read and share in the frustrations over this article et al, I

keep thinking of all the past diseases/conditions/medical whatevers

that took time to be recognized as so-called " not in your head "

medical conditions. I think we should start making a list to send to

NYT!! For example, it hasn't been that long ago that the same battles

over PTSD, Agent Orange, and others, that have earned credibility over

time. There have to be sooo many more we could list!!! I recently read

an article a

bout prolotherapy being tried on returning Iraq soldiers injured in

battle,

and other treatments, etc. -- what struck was the fact that something

shunned and " untested " etc is now cool enough to warrant a military

study!! Guess we need some celebrity or other well known person to be

dx with FM to be our " poster " person -- suddenly things seem to be

real when they affect others.......

PS. I noticed that both the Natl and American Pain Associations are

responding to the article as well. They too are outraged!!
