Guest guest
Hi Debbie, I'm sorry you are having such a " let down " from stopping your thyroid medication. Since I haven't been able to be on the computer much lately or been able to read the posts I don't know why you are stopping it. I take Synthroid (generic) for underactive thyroid. The effects that I would have if I stopped taking it would include being quite fatigued. Add that to fibro and you get a massive fibro fog. I hope you get over the effects soon or go back to taking it. Blessed be, Marti deebs87 wrote: Since I have been off Levoxyl one week, my fibro fog has worsened. Also much more tired then I usually am. That may also be because I have to take Neurontin in the afternoon. Hope my symptoms don't get too worse so I won't be able to drive. Guest guest
Hi Marti, Hope you are feeling better now. Did answer your post about where your daugther took you to a restaurant. Anyway, had to stop my Levoxyl (thyroid med) for my thyroid cancer treatment. My treatment is radioactive iodine to kill of cancer cells. Any thyroid tissue absorb iodine. While I am off my med, my TSH will keep getting higher. Once it's above 30 it will be a good range for the cancer treatment. So my thyroid cancer tissue will readily abosrb more iodine at the high TSH level. CAn't take my Levoxyl till after my cancer treatment. This was hard to explain. Hope it makes sense to anyone. soft hugs, Debbie J > > Hi Debbie, > I'm sorry you are having such a " let down " from stopping your thyroid medication. Guest guest
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Yes, you need to be able to keep driving if at all possible. Guest guest
Makes perfect sense to me. Hope you reach that treatment number quickly so you can get on with it and then back on your medication. Jeanne in WI > Hi Marti, > Hope you are feeling better now. I haven't had anything to add to this, but hope that Debbie you will do well with your treatment. The only thing I can relate is that I had a big tabby cat who developed hyperthyroidism in 1999. It often happens with older cats, and is usually from thyroid cancer. Frisky had the radioactive iodine treatment. The cancer pretty much affected her entire thyroid, so she had no function left afterwards. I gave her pills for the rest of her life. Pilling her was not fun, and a friend finally figured out that if we squished up the pill and mixed it with baby food, she would happily lick that off my finger. She did just fine after the treatment and lived to a ripe old age. Her only major problem was that she threw her back out chasing the kittens I got for her after her buddy died Not sure how this helps you except that the treatment works well, and Frisky reported that the pills are acceptable if mixed with baby food. And be careful chasing kittens. ;D I'll be thinking of you, and Frisky, as you go through this. Z
Guest guest
Thanks for your response and sharing the story about Frisky. We have a big tabby also so will pay attention to how she acts now. Debbie J > >> The only thing I can relate is that I had a big tabby cat who > developed hyperthyroidism in 1999.
