Guest guest
I have a sleep number that I love. Prior to getting that - oh my - was my bed and sleep horrible. I have heard that the temerpedic are good beds. Good luck on getting one. I know that when I have my sleep number set at the correct setting - I do sleep better. Christi Randall www.singingwomenoftexas.com A question about beds I was wondering, because I feel like soon I'll need a crane to help me out of bed, has anyone tried a temperpedic style bed? I slept on one once and had the best night sleep I've ever gotten. I've been hinting to DH that we need to get one.....lol. Darlene

Guest guest
I had a memory fome mattress for almost a year. I hardly ever had back pain and I slept better in that time then I ever slept in my life. I couldn't bring it with me when I moved from TN to AZ and I so wish I would have been able to. I think they are the best Amy deebs87 wrote: > > I was wondering, because I feel like soon I'll need a crane to help me > out of bed, has anyone tried a temperpedic style bed? Guest guest
The bed topper I got from Overstock .com has helped a lot. It is good quality and just needs a good puff now and again. I will never be able to affort one of those temperpedic beds I am pretty sure. I am afraid I have dragged my family down into a deep well with my sickness. Guest guest
If you have a bad mattress, trying to sleep at night is HELL! I had so much pain with my old mattress I hated to get into bed at night. Finally got a Back Care and it has made all the difference in the world. I am sure it would have been even better to get the top of the line model but that was $1200!!!! And the $800 I spent was plenty at the time. Definitely upgrade the mattress if you can. My BFF just got a new mattress and she is SO much better for having a comfortable place to sleep and actually getting some sleep for a change. Guest guest
> > If you have a bad mattress, trying to sleep at night is HELL! My husband decided several years ago to get a Select Comfort/Sleep Number bed. We ordered on during a sale on QVC after trying one at the nearest shop in one of the local shopping centers. We had not slept in the same bed for years basically because of my restless leg problem. But we decided that we would try a Queen size sleep number bed. In a very short time, I knew that was not going to work. So, I went back to sleeping in a twin bed, which I realized was wider than one side of the queen size sleep number bed. Eventually, I decided that the single bed was not wide enough (before that I was sleeping on a queen or double size futon which was 10 years old). So, I ordered a full size sleep number bed. I really do like it --- I can adjust the number to the either the firmness or softness that I need, depending on how I feel. We had tried my sister-in-law's Termperapedic mattress but my husband found it too soft and after some reading today in the new issue of Real Simple, I did discover one reason that the Temprapedic (sp?) bed, because of the material it is made up of can make you feel hotter. But I think it is all about what one likes, feels comfortable with and also can afford. I don't know if we will trying sleeping in one bed when we move this summer or not --- but if we do, we are definitely getting measurements of various size sleep number beds --- we have been told that there is a California queen that is longer and wider than the regular one and I know that a California King is also larger than a regular King. But I do think, because, I spend so much time in bed because of a number of conditions, that I want a bed that supports me and is comfortable; and that's what I like about the select number bed -- the number on mine right now is 90+ because I like a firm bed, my husband's # is probably 35 because he prefers a softer mattress. So that's my summation on beds.
Guest guest
Thanks for the info in the sleep number beds. That might be a possibility when this one is ready for replacement. Know what you mean...my DH is sleeping in the guest room because I am up at weird hours and also move around a lot trying to get comfortable and he needs his sleep. Guest guest
Beds, there's a great subject for those of us suffering this or any other debilitating pain, especially joint, muscle and such. I bought a bed that said it was for those of us in this world with bad backs and other problems. Well, I know I have a really bad back, and have since before I bought the darn bed. I also know, the bed isn't what it was supposed to be, for either my husband or myself. I have a question for those who have this experience. I have a thin memory foam addition, would a thick one be better for my bed or should I just get a whole new bed? I have to do something, if it gets much worse I'll never survive another year with this thing. I honestly don't care if my bed is as high as my grandmother's was. I wish to heaven I actually had her bed, that was one heck of a bed, I must say. I could disappear into it, the mattress was the softest, most secure goose down I ever experienced. A. Neff PS. I won't complain about my back. A good bit of it is my own darn fault in the first place. I was such a klutz as a teenager and young adult. What am I saying? I'm still one of the clumsiest, most accident prone people I know. The stupidest thing will result in ugly black and blue bruises in the strangest of places. > > I was wondering, because I feel like soon I'll need a crane to help me > out of bed, has anyone tried a temperpedic style bed? Guest guest
Gee, I don't sleep with a fan on, but I certainly turn the thermostat down at night and now I sleep only with a sheet and a lightweight coverlet over me --- sometimes both get kicked off! Another reason DH and I don't often sleep in the same bed! He burrows into his down comforter and after menopause, I found I could not stand that! I finally threw mine away! So, seems there must be a few of us who want cool rooms to sleep in! > Hi , Now we have enough for a club. the crazy fan club. hehehehe > Marti > > Mystic wrote: > Marti, > > I'm another one. Neff Hi , We have a 3 inch memory foam mattress topper on our bed. It works very well even though the bed is a bit higher. Had to buy deep pocket sheets though. It was cheaper than buying a whole new bed. hugs, Debbie J

It was cheaper than buying a whole new bed. > hugs, > Debbie J > : I had an original tempurpedic, which if one can afford, it is the BEST thing I have ever found for chronic pain. However, I had to leave mine in storage in FL when I went to WA state to take care of my adult daughter (eventually dx w/Crohns and prob also has FM). We cannot afford to buy another, so I researched the toppers @18ms-2yrs ago and they were recommending a 4 " topper in lieu of the bed when bed is not poss. That's what I have now. It is DEFinitely better than w/o, but I am pushing for either my storage or another Tempurpedic now!!! Good Luck! Cheryl M.
