Thanks Jeanne. I am just too dang stubborn to let this completely stop me. I

have altered my lifestyle dramatically to deal with this pain. I am taking

classes online is how I can do this. I can work when it is convient for me and

I have a wonderful job where I can do a lot of my classwork/reading when we are

slow. That helps me a lot. I still have quite a ways to go to get my BA -

probably another 2 years at least. I pretty much don't go and do anything

anymore so that I can use what I have to go to work and school.

Right now I am sitting at work and have taken an Ultram and am still in quite a

bit of pain in my hip/lower back area due to the blasted doctor yesterday poking

and proding me. This caused a pretty bad flare up of pain, so as a result last

night I did not get any school work done (could not concentrate) , but will have

to do it today/tonight since I am on very tight time lines with these classes.

I go to school at DeVry University and they work their online classes that you

do a semester's worth of classes every 8 weeks. I have two classes I am taking

right now, so am extremely busy with reading/writting essays/tests. I do not

have time to not do my work. But having the job I do really helps. I am also

single and only have my income to depend on so I have to be at work everyday.

Cannot afford to do otherwise. I am also of the mind that if I give in

completely to this I will become unable to function anymore and I flat out

refuse to allow that to

happen to me. Know I know that there are a lot of people whose pain makes it

where they cannot work or do much, but for ME this is what I do.

It is tough at times and I would like to be able to not do - but I have to.

Example: I was extremly busy the first two weeks of Dec with lots of church

activities and boy did I ever pay the last three weeks have been horrible. I

have had to make myself go to work and that has been it. I have not been back

to church since mid Dec as each weekend I am sleeping and pretty much laying

around trying to conserve my energy for the next work week. Learned my lesson

to not do that again. Will just have to say no more often until I get some of

my strength back.

This may have been more that you were asking, but I wanted to completely answer

your question.

Re: New Member

Welcome to you, Christi. I'm amazed that you can work and go to school,

both full-time, with the level of pain you describe. You must have

tremendous strength and willpower to keep going in spite of the pain. How

soon before you get your BA degree?

This is a great group full of supportive and caring people. I hope

you'll find that it helps you out a lot. Take care.

Thank you for your reply and explanation. I glanced at the link for your

women's chorus at church. Singing is my passion, but I can't even push

myself to get to church and sing with the choir. I get upset and depressed

if I talk about it too much, so will just quit with that.

Glad you are part of the FaMily now. Take care.
