I've been playing catch up today. My in-laws leave tomorrow. My

hubby goes back to work then too. (He took off 3 days to take the

stress of the in-law visit from me. Sweet, huh!) I hope that means

we go back to our routine. Of course we have my daughter's 15th

birthday on friday and then mine the 18th and hubby's the 25, oh,

my! So we well keep busy.

Okay way off topic. I had a girl stay with us overnight. I'm so

worried for her. Her mother beat her. Her father is unable to care

for her, grandparents not able to, and her sister that lives here is

not acceptable either. I wasn't sure what to do for her. Poor

dear. I did tell my daughter that I would call the police if I

thought it was happening again. I know it would be terrible to put

her into the state system, she is 16 and it would probably mean she

would be taken out of the area and away from all her friends and

support here. I just can't let her get beat up though. It's a

terrible thing. My hubby has said if there is no legal problem and

she would abide by our rules she could stay here. We will see.

That's all I can do right now, I guess.

I hope you are all doing well. I know most of you have had some bad

weather lately. STAY WARM!!! And take care.

Tammi,

That is a very nice thing you are doing and will probably help that

young girl more than you will ever know. I had to do that when my son

was a senior in high school. His girlfriends parents threw her out of

the house because she stood up to them about getting a job and what

college she was applying to. They did not like the fact that their baby

was growing up. She lived here for three or four months, graduated and

joined the army. I was very glad that we could give her the support she

couldn't get from her family and I am sure the young girl you are

helping will feel the same way.
