Guest guest
Hi Ginger, I'm Marti, Welcome to the group. We are a diverse group of people who have Fibromyalgia and assorted other diseases. We support and encourage each other, and listen to you vent about your bad days and tell us about your good days. I'm so glad you're here. I'm 59 and live in Connecticut, but was born and raised in Georgia. I have lived here since 1982 so I call it home now. I'm divorced and live alone. I have a daughter Andi 34 who is married to Joe 38 and has 3 boys, Jack 6, Brady 3 and Aidan 9 mons and lives about 40 min from me. They are my pride and joy. I have a great son who is 30 and lives in Boston and teaches special ed and works in a hospital. I also have my kitty L.C. I have had fibromyalgia and CFS since 1989,and have Sarcoidosis, and a lot more things. I no longer work because I'm in too much pain and can't plan my days, in addition to the brain fog that keeps me from concentrating and making decisions. I definitely have bouts with the flu like symptoms which you describe. Sometimes it is hard to tell the difference between the flu and my fibro. With the fibro flu I generally run a low grade fever instead of a high one and the symptoms seem to stay the same rather than changing like the flu. Right now I'm lucky because I'm not going through one of those periods. They are draining and no one seems to understand that something like fibro could cause the flu. Lots of people here are taking Lyrica, but I am not. I'm sorry you have all of those other diseases on top of the fibro. That must be really rough. Welcome to the group. Take care, Marti. kjiny wrote: Hi everyone,I'm Ginger. I just wanted to introduce myself and tell you a little about me. I'm 43 and live in Western North Carolina. I'm divorced and have a son 20 and a daughter 15 that live with me. I love animals, especially dogs.I breed and raise a few just for my pleasure and to help with my income. They are my furbabies and are what helps me get through my days. I've had Fibro and Chronic Fatigue for a little over 15 yrs. I was diagnoised with Depression about 9 yrs ago and I've since gotten my SSI and Disablity.Just this past year I was diagnosed as being bi- polar. I also have pernicious anemia (can't absorb B12),knots in my thyroid,an anuerism in my renal artery, and possibly Epstein Barr Virus. I have chills, body aches, fevers (basically flu like symptoms) etc with mine. I've met a few people with Fibro that have these symptoms but I know not everyone does. My Doctor put me on Lyrica about 4 months ago,and I'm on a lot of anti-depressants. I can't tell that the Lyrica is doing a whole lot for me - as an anti-depressant or for the Fibro. Well I guess that's about it! I'm glad that I've found a group of people that can and will understand the problems of living daily with Fibro. So many people don't understand because we look " normal " to them! Everyone have as good a day as possible and take care... Ginger --------------------------------- Never miss a thing.
