Guest guest
Now Debra, they're not all bad. I love my chiropractor. I only see him on an as needed basis. Adjustments help me out a lot. When my spine is aligned improperly, I'm sure it adds extra stress to the trigger points, and therefore more pain. I can also get basic PT at his office, such as ultrasound or electric stim therapy. Anyway, I just wanted to say not all chiropractors are quacks. There were a lot of them years ago when people had never heard of chiropractors, but now many are well trained and caring. This Whitman guy though does seem like he is taking advantage of those of us with FM. Jeanne in WI > Oh that explains it... a chiropractor. They seem to claim to have the > cure for everything. Guest guest
Yes yes yes! A fellow chiro fan. I am glad I'm not alone. My chiro has done more for me than ANY of my medical doctors ever have. djgraves9497@... wrote: > Now Debra, they're not all bad. I love my chiropractor. I only see him on > an as needed basis. One trained at a school that also had an animal clinic, and she learned to treat everything from mice to racehorses. She also treated animals, for free. I had a little gray striped tabby who fell out of a tree on her head and hurt her neck terribly. The chiropractor came to our house several times a week for about a month to treat her. She gave us 12.5 wonderful years with that little cat, who turned out to be the most wonderful, funny, clever kitty you ever met. Years afterwards, if the practitioner called our answering machine, SooSoo would get all excited and run around all happy just at the sound of her voice. I once saw this chiropractor treat a basset hound who literally could not walk. The dog walked out of her office. And I haven't even touched how she helped me. So they're not all quacks. But I'd be dubious of anything that claims to be a " cure " . I go to an osteopath who does all kinds of neck-wringing manipulations on me. It's part of the treatment. BTW, my program of stepping up my physical therapy exercises seems to be working. It doesn't really help fibro pain, but it's helping to push other kinds of pain out of the way, and make clear what is fibro and what isn't. I played my cello today with much less pain and much more strength in my right shoulder. Cool. I'm continuing to listen to this NPR program at http://wamu.org/ programs/dr/08/01/15.php#18786 . It's really, really good. Z
