Guest guest
, , Nanette, and anyone with the itchy bumps: I want to do an experiment. I recently was tested for acidity (pH) and was found to be too acidic (blood, urine, saliva). The doctor started me on tri-salts and as long as im on them, my ph is in the right range (6.8-7 for urine). You can get ph paper in the store. pee in a cup and dip the paper in to see the color change and note what your ph is. If its below 6.8, you are too acidic )(mine was 5.8-yikes!). I started the tri-salts about 3 weeks ago and have not been itchy since. Its still a little early to tell for sure, but it really seems to be helping. So, my experiment is just that I want to see if you all are too acidic, too. Maybe the tri-salts could help you, too. Maybe getting the ph in balance will get rid of the itchy bumps. Worth a try since it seems to work for me. Knock on wood. Do the test if you can and write me back with your urine ph numbers. Ph paper is cheap in the drugstore and it's pretty interesting. Guest guest
I have never had these itching bumps/welts, but would an antihistamine help? Patty
Guest guest
I get these in a " flare " , but not along my jawline--they're on the cheek area of my poor face and very NOTICEABLE!--ugh The only thing I seem to be able to do esp. if the flare is on a real " roll " --ie, continuous, ongoing, incessant breaking out with more of the hateful things coming up all the time--is to stop the process with " Desonide " lotion (wait...I think the brand name is " DesOwen " ) This is used after trying a couple of days of cider vinegar cold rinses, ice packs, cool aloe gel " masks " , etc. I use the Desowen lightly--2-3 applications per day, for 1 or 2 days. I know that cortisone preps are supposed to be a " no-no " for our type skins, but if I find it necessary because I'm tremendously unsightly, I feel that I need to do something to stop a seemingly nonstop, ongoing process. By the way...anybody? Remedies--for flares? what you use? what works for you? Best regards, Carol Gray wrote: > > and Shavaun, > > Thank goodness for your posts! Guest guest
Patty, I used to use the paper all the time to test for acidity/alkalinity...esp during chemo treatments. I used the alkalinizing formulas from Reva? ?--found in health food catalogues. I'd like to know more about the tri-salts, though, too? Can they be found in ,,,say,,,, " Vitamin Shoppe " catalogue? Thanks so much, Carol and Artist wrote: > > , , Nanette, and anyone with the itchy bumps: > > I want to do an experiment.
