Guest guest
Tina, Guess I didn't make myself very clear. (happens often now) My husband died almost 19 years ago, I'm past the why me stage. I know it is difficult for you when you are not feeling well but watch his blood sugar like a hawk. His life depends on it. My husband tried but he couldn't seem to understand how important it was that he eat right. Whenever my son or I would fix him a meal he would say, " How come we always get to eat what you two want to eat but never what I want to eat. " He wanted lots of starches, gravies, desserts, you get the picture. We wouldn't let him have these foods. Whenever we went out to eat he would order all that and mashed potatoes and pasta in the same meal. Then he wondered why he was a brittle diabetic. This was a very intelligent man, in fact quite an intellectual. Is he treating it with insulin or pills? My husband started on the pills but had to switch as his blood sugar was like a yo-yo. The mood changes are the hardest part, sudden anger at those closest to him. My nephew is going through all this now with his wife. He is so bewildered when she lashes out at him or their children. (Who are all grown now.) I'll return the offer and I will be willing to listen and help you anytime. You may use my e-mail address if you like. Take care, Margaret B > >> Hi Margret, > I wanted to say thank you for the kind words, and that I am sorry to > hear about your husband. If you need a shoulder I am here for you > anytime.
