Guest guest
Thank you, Joanne, Omaha Tim, Lee, , Kate for the kindness you've shown during this heartbreaking time for , her family and I! All of you have a special place in our lives. I will pass on all of your thoughts and prayers while I am here. Deb in VA, a very special thanks to you for allowing me to cry and rant when I learned of M2's condition, but more for understanding the emotions and thoughts that go along with it! I adore you! Now, to M2...she was the best she's been, since I've been here, when I arrived last night. We got in around 9:00 p.m. and she was very aware of my presence and talked as much as she could, until she needed to rest. (She even thanked me for coming. I assured her thanks was not necessary, I wouldn't have had it any other way!) There were so many people in her room at the time we arrived - 15-20 is my guess. , her husband, greeted me at the door with a huge hug and then the room began to murmur, "Is that her? Is she here?" and a path to her bed was opened. Apparently, and had told M2 I was coming and she asked, "ST. Louis?," and then told them she needed details. was laughing when she told me the story. I didn't have any doubt that coming to Dallas was the thing to do, but it helped to know it made her so happy. Her family has adopted Jay and I, and 's mother is mothering me now, too -- they are amazing people! In fact, M2's brother and sister-in-law paid for a hotel room for us inside the hospital, so I could spend as much time with M2 as possible, AND be here should M2 get worse, or if my health worsened. I understand more and more every minute how turned out to be such a wonderful, loving individual! I arrived in 's room around 9:00 a.m. this morning and she is noteably weaker. Some friends brought in some old pictures and she was able to enjoy them and even managed to say a few words -- which she had not been able to do today. Her goal, I am told, is to hang on long enough to see her step-daughter Chrissy (who she helped raise). Chrissy will be arriving at DFW at 5:00 a.m. tomorrow. I know that if CAN she certainly will hang on! Again, she is amazing! She has told and that she has seen heaven already and they are all as prepared as they can be for her final resting place. As the song goes, "Our God is an awesome God!" That kind of peace and acceptance is hard, if not impossible, to find otherwise! Thank you all again for your kindness and prayers! Much love and blessings to all of you!!!! 1 (but only in age!)
