Guest guest
Saw my internist today for meds follow-up, script for blood work, etc. She asked how I was feeling, and we discussed my fibro pain. It's the first we really talked about it in the year and a half I've gone to her since moving here. I've got other health issues that are much more serious, as far as complications goes, like lung disease, thickening heart valves, etc. After having had 3 hip surgeries, and having severe arthritis, I've never really known a pain-free joint, muscle, or even my skin! ARG! Anyhow, I was telling her how I hated to complain about pain, that I generally just push through it. But my hands and feet hurt so bad. Hard to walk, and try doing any daily activity without using your hands. Duh! She totally concurred that fibro is a very well documented condition and that nobody should have to endure the chronic pain without treatment, and that she was very willing to work with me and change meds or adjust dosage to see what we could do. So today I came home with a cymbalta prescription, to substitute for the fluoxetine. I'm to continue the ultram also. When I go back in 3 months, she will evaluate. She's also willing to try neurontin or lyrica, but my copayments for lyrica are just killer with all my other meds. So I feel validated! Sending soft gentle hugs to all here, wishing for restful sleep, and much love and laughter. girlsaylor
