Guest guest
Hi - I've read that the loose joints can be fairly common in FM. Another thing is hypermobility where the joints can bend too far in the wrong direction, putting strain on the ligaments and tendons. My 14 yr. old daughter with FM has this. Good luck with the PT. Some people find it helps, and others don't. I guess I'm one of the people it usually helps. And falling on the face seems to be going around. Hope you heal quickly. Take care. Guest guest
Hi , On the 'loose joints' question, my sis was going for PT and was discussing fibromyalgia and the 'loose joints' her sis (me) has, plus another sister. The physical therapist told her there seems to be some strong family tendencies for the combo of fibro and this 'loose joints' thing. I was very flexible as a child, and boy am I paying the fibro price now! I feel your pain! girlsaylor > > Well, all of my bloodwork is back (CBC, ANA, RA, Uric Acid, thyroid, > etc.) RA and ANA were negative and all other bloodwork was within > normal range. Guest guest
, when my daughter was small they told me she had " loose joints. " Today she is always " popping " her knees out. We found out she has an extra ligament in her knees that makes those worse. She is now told she is hypermobile. I have a sister that is also that way. She has many problems with her back and hips that they say is related to that. Neither my sister or my daughter has been dxed or shown the indicators for fibro. I pray they never do. I do have a son that has been and of course I have fibro but neither or us are hypermobile. So go figure!!! Tammi
