Guest guest
Hi Annetta and welcome to the group! I have a 14yr. old daughter w/CP. Someday she will need an operation that will be VERY risky as life threatening so I can imagine what you are going thru w/your children. It's very difficult to watch your children suffer and often ask WHY. Annetta I hope that you will find the Love, encouragement and support that I have found since I joined this group. GOD Bless YOU Anneta ! ! ! . . . ........................................ . . .. Gentle Hugs, To: Fibromyalgia_Support_Group@...: marcandnicksmom@...: Mon, 7 Jan 2008 00:14:12 +0000Subject: Hello! My name is annetta.I havea two children, both boys.My youngest son has spastic diplegic CP and last week my oldest aged 10 was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and chronic asthma. He also had blood work done to check for Arthritis but we havent recieved the results yet.All of this has me very afraid because he is so young. He says he hurts several times a day, usually with shooting pains down the claf muscles or chest pain or finger and wrist pain.He has pain in all areas at certain times but the ones listed are the most common.but he says it is tollerable.Anyway the doctor told me to limit his activites and change his diet. What I odnt understand is can someone this young with it grow up and have a normal life? Does it get worse over time? Can it be disabling? And what do I need to do for him?Any help would be appreciated. _________________________________________________________________ Share life as it happens with the new Windows Live. http://www.windowslive.com/share.html?ocid=TXT_TAGHM_Wave2_sharelife_012008
Guest guest
Hi Annetta, I'm sorry to hear that your kids have such illnesses. It must be very hard on you as well. I don't know much about spastic diplegic CP; is it very different from regular CP? For your other son to have asthma and then be dx with fibro is just terrible. He sounds like a strong boy saying his pain is tolerable. I wonder why the doctor told him to limit his activities. Generally doctors want us to do as much as we can without overdoing it. Staying active is a real plus. Lots of people don't develop bad fibro and many he will be one of those. I think he will be able to live a mostly normal life and certainly enjoy what life has to offer. I will keep both your boys in my prayers. Take care of yourself too.
