Guest guest
Eileen, Yes, you can have pain in all of those places. I too have a lot of daily knee pain. However, if you are prone to clots...you need to have this checked out ASAP. Make sure there isn't a clot in this leg. Bless, ~Jennie **************Start the year off right. Guest guest
Eileen sorry to hear about the pains you are having. I get flares in my shoulders and elbows. Shoulders more than the elbows and in my right knee sometimes. But I also get it in my back pretty bad. Hope you can find something to help. Christi Randall www.singingwomenoftexas.com Flares in knees Hi Everyone, I am new to this group. I have had fibromyalgia for quite a few years, but it seems like I have had it forever sometimes. I usually get flares in my back, ribs, and stomach muscles. The last one I had was a doozy. Last night I had a lot of pain in my knees, the left leg was worse because I had a clot in that leg, and it is still swollen some. I think that the pain last night was a flare. Does anyone else get flares in just their knees, elbows, ankles etc? I do have some pain in my knees everyday, but not like last nights pain. Thank you, Eileen 1. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general. 2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation better. 3. Also, it is not uncommon for more than one member to be feeling bad at the same time when it comes to flares and b/c of that potentially take something another member says the wrong way. And that includes the things that one member may find funny (even if it's laughing at fibro itself) even though we who deal with illness whether one such as fibro or multiple illnesses try to keep a sense of humor. 5. Pls let's be gentle with each other, and if you are having a bad day pls let us know so that we can do our best to offer our support. Have a nice day everyone. Guest guest
My knees are one of the most common painful areas for me. They hurt around the knee area. I know what you mean. Welcome to the group. It is a wonderful place to be to find understanding and support. Debra V. egr_1941 wrote: Hi Everyone, I am new to this group. Guest guest
Eileen, sorry you are in such pain, too My shoulders and upper back are badly flared now. Also my hips tend to be often. Don't have a muscle relaxant so have to put up with Neurontin. Debbie J > > > > 1. Guest guest
I've actually had to go to the doctor yesterday. I have severe acid reflux and they put me on Tramadol 3 times a day again plus Lyrica 150 mg 2 times a day. They are talking about upping the Lyrica. I think just the Tramadol mixed with Lyrica is working. Today is the first day on both of the medicines. It worked. I don't hurt and no reflux. I am still going to take my Zantac just to keep it from flaring.
Guest guest
hi eileen, i get like flares in my lower back and hip joints sometimes, it is wierd. the flares and pain in my hips cause me to have to try to bend or squat with one leg straight, it is difficult and painfull, i cannot concentrate on anything but the pain. i know it is not that sciata (sp?) because the pain does not radiate down the leg or up, but it feels like someone hit my hip with a hammer. i read somewhere that if our joints do not have inflammation and there is no bone joint erosion, then it is not arthritis, it is the fibro. i had like 30 xrays of joints and neck at one rheumatologist and i have no joint inflammation or erosion, the xray found mild osteopenia. from what i've read so far, having just pain without inflammation/erosion is what determines we have fibro instead of arthritis. but i would think many of us with fibro will go on to develop autoimmune conditions as we age and because we have poorly functioning immune systems. i have had the autoimmune disease of psoriasis since age 11 and have been diagnosed with the autoimmune disease called sjogrens in the last 6 years, with possible lupus developing. i was hoping that getting old would be more fun than this. take care, marg > > Have you been checked for arthritis? Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Many thanks for all your replies. I have never had flares in just my knees before. I have had fibro for about ten years now, and before this last year it was quite mild. I have been checked for arthritis, and they told me it was fibromyalgia. With my knees the pain was in the muscles around the knees. Thanks again. Eileen
