Guest guest
I was told by my dermatologist that rosacea could possibly come from a parasite in the system. Anyone hear anything like that before? I can't fully remember the whole story that went with it but I do remember the parasite part. That is why I was prescribed the 10 days worth of Tetracycline 3 years ago. I too worshipped the sun when I was younger... actually up until I was diagnosed. I remember coming home from the beach and being soooo red it took days to calm my face down. Maybe that's the start of it, huh?
Guest guest
My derm also told me the rosacea was a reaction to a mite living in the skin that most people don't react to. He prescribed some lotion for me to use that kills scabies, but for some reason I haven't tried it yet. I think I am tired of all these potions and lotions that don't seem to work or make it worse. I guess I should try one more. Patti > I was told by my dermatologist that rosacea could possibly come from a > parasite in the system. Anyone hear anything like that before? Guest guest
Patti, That mite you're talking about is one of the theories derms have about possible causes of rosacea. The mite could be a trigger - it's one that lives on everyones' skin but they think our skin could be more sensitive to it. I had read in more than one health book/magazine that 200 mg of B-complex tested on rats showed the mite couldn't survive on skin that had the B-complex in it. They suggested people take 200mg but make sure it has niacimide and not niacin (so you won't flush) in it. I tried it for awhile and it did seem to help. But now my latest flare up is out of control so I discontinued everything until this goes away. Patty
