I had one Friday and of course they say it is only going to prick a little with the " Tiny needle " and then make your muscles dance. Lordy, I thought I was going to go through the bed, now I have a huge knotted muscle on my upper arm that is sore as can be. and the lower arm is tender to touch of course. my neck feels like some one over stretched the muscles and a nest of bee's moved in. Any suggestions on how to make the pain go away. my meds sure aren't. And on Thursday they are doing a sleep test due to no sleep meds working for me. has any one had that study done. Guest guest
The one I had done the glue washed right out of my hair (also long)..It was like a hotel room.. Nice queen bed, nightstands, tv..They had a shower for me to use in the morning, that was nice.. And they even gave me a BIG breakfast, so I watched TV and ate my breakfast..They told me to take my time;-) This was my 2nd study, my first was done at home and I had 35 episodes and hour.. My sister had 117 per hour, my brother in law well over 100 as well.. You have to do whatever you can to get used to that cpap machine, ask about a bipap machine, some do better on that.. And they have many kinds of masks. Try them all until you can find one U can sleep with.. Sleep apnea WILL kill you, it damages all your organs..if you are not getting enough oxygen and it will effect your heart and damage it..We NEED restorative sleep.. My brother in law was so sick they told him he had only weeks left, his heart was effected as well as other things.. They did the sleep study (rushed it) and that night they put him on cpap machine.. This was 4 years ago and he is doing great..Had he not gotten on that machine he would be dead....This is serious stuff!! I don't think people really comprehend how serious it is. Guest guest
I've never done a sleep study. I do think one day I might have a go at that, but so far I sleep relatively good as long as the bedding is to my liking (or my body's liking) and if I don't take sudafed. Hubby however sleeps very poorly and the doc said he needs a sleep study. He's stubborn so not sure if he'll do that.
