Guest guest
> Amazingly enough we got through it ourselves and went on to successfully BF! I'm so glad that you were able to work through the obstacles you faced, too! The feeling of accomplishment when it comes to breastfeeding is tremendous, isn't it? The lessons we learned about informed consent can be so costly -- it almost cost you your sense of guilt from not seeking answers, your self-worth as a mother from being sabotaged, and your sense of pride from meeting your goals! I've learned (slowly) that I need to give at least enough thought to my medical advice as I do to my banking advice. I doubt that I would follow investment advice with my money as easily as I follow medical advice. It's so sad that many times, the very things we should value most, we give the least thought to how to best manage it! It's great that you recognized the bad advice from your doctor for what it was worth and took it upon yourself to learn what would be best for you. Has this changed the way you deal with medical advice for you and your kids now?
