I'm not trying to upset anyone with this, but my aunt has been a cosmetologist

for over 35 years and I am very good friends with numerous cosmetologists in the

area where I live. When I asked about the crescents I was basically told that

most people do not push their cuticles back, either with an orange stick or with

their own fingernails. This should be done at least twice a day after washing

hands or bathing. If you don't push them back regularly, the cuticle will grow

out to the point it will cover the crescent.

When I was in high school, I stopped pushing mine back (for no reason really,

just got lazy). I saw at that point that my cuticles were covering my

crescents. Within a month of me pushing my cuticles back, the crescents were

becoming visible again. Same thing goes for your toes. The only crescent you

can barely see is the one on my pinky fingers.

I'd suggest trying to push your cuticles back for a while and see if the

crescents become visible.

I agree with this . Often try and push my cuticles back with my

fingernails. Easier on my left then right. So almost all my cuticles

are showing! Just my pinkies have tiny crescents.
