I have been there and done that. Those pain centers are not for some of us. My

neuroligist literally pulled me out of the program it did me so much damage.

Now that was my experience. After 6 weeks I looked and felt like death warmed

over. They push you to the limits. sure it might help others but check into it

thoroughly and talk to others that are already in the program.

OMG!!! Here I am talking about how good it was when I went! I can

see where it could be harmful. I think what I found so helpful was

that for the first time people were asking me about my pain on a daily

basis and were VALIDATING that it was real. That was so reassuring to me!

Now when I think about it, there were some things that the PT

assistant had me try that put me in a flare. Luckily the main PT I

saw practiced the feldenkrais method, and she was very gentle and as

soon as she saw that flare she pulled that stuff from my routine and

used some heat and such to help me through the flare and then the

gentle work she did with me I was feeling better quickly.

But a good thing to hear for those who are contemplating going to a

pain clinic...we need to remember that one person's experience will

not necessarily be another's.
