Guest guest
Debbie, Years ago, I had several HIDA scans done. The initial part, where they put the dye in and take xrays isn't so bad. The 2nd part, where you are laying flat and they introduce meds into your body to simulate the function of your gallbladder during digestion makes your inside feel like its undulating uncontrollably. I remember distinctly being very very cold - they were fantastic and got me those nuked blankies. It's an uncomfortable feeling during the undulating part *unless* your gallbladder is nearly non-functional. As mine started to " die " , the discomfort/pain lessened a lot until the very last time, when I asked " have you put the stuff in yet? " . That's when I knew the gallbladder was likely going in a matter of time. Good luck with it and be prepared! Guest guest
Hi Darlene, Thank you for telling me about the HIDA scan. I did research it and found similar information. The undulating sounds very uncomfortable. Since I don't have a gall bladder it will probsbly just stimulate my biliary tree. Hope not my pancrease b/c that's painful. Thanks for the warning. It will be done at the same center where I had the MRCP so most likely will get blankets! My HIDA scan is Jan 21. hugs, Debbie J > > Debbie, > Years ago, I had several HIDA scans done.
