Guest guest
Just wanted to put my 2 cents in and probably these days is all it is. I agree with both of you, and first let u know I was one of those afraid to take anything, worried myself to death taking a pill, except for my needed synthriod daily. Now I am at the point of trying ANYTHING they suggest, as I have been suffering with non stop fibromyalgia pain now for 3 mol before I had breaks but not now, they can not get me out of flare-up and it stinks. I agree reacations come from all meds, script or not. I also have had bad side effects from so many of the meds used and have not been able to get past the amt of time to get into my body to see if they would work, it gets discouraging, but keep trying, good thing for insurance as some have been very costly without. Though I am in danger of losing my health insurance now. I also had trouble with antideppresants, tried most or maybe all of them my Dr's were hoping to use that so I could back off the pain med. The last one was effexor and it helped the most, but for some reason turned on me, after 5 mo., and now My body is screaming, and I am so frustrated, and hatefull !!! I think once u start what Dr. suggest, and if u are trusting of them, u will soon get over anxiety of taking meds, as to me now is my last worry, I just want to feel better. I also have fantastic Dr's and with there close watch, have helped solve my fare's. My big problem is not sleeping I go days and days without it, and have found nothing that puts me to sleep. Yeah you have a scaredy cat in ur group! My doc gave me a script for cymbalta last friday and its still in my purse! I am so afraid to take anything! Since then I have new meds anxiety. Now its actually a phobia! I need to get past this but its so hard for me.I want to feel better and not be so chronically fatigued! I get mad from being tired all the time! It makes me NUTS!!! > > Huggles! > Hey , you are not alone with the phobia. I can totally relate. My doctor realizes this and works with me to feel comfortable with what I take. He gives me choices between this medication and that, he talks with me about the benefits of each, and he never has be start more than one medication at a time. Since he has been doing this, I am much better at taking new medications. The other thing I do is to take my medications before I head home. I take it right away and then wander around shopping or going out to eat...I give myself some time to see if I'm going to have any reaction right away, and by shopping or whatever I keep my mind busy so I don't think about it. I have also had a couple of reactions to medications...there have been a couple of antidepressants that I just couldn't deal with. They changed my personality for the worse! Then I found I have an allergy to a couple of things so I understand how having those reactions makes you feel. I think one of the issues with fibro seems to be hightened anxiety. So, I'm here with you. I have to say that I don't agree with you that a 'natural' medication is any different. You can react to anything, and any form you take it in can interact with other medications you are taking. So the best thing to do is to talk with your doctor no matter what format you chose your meds to come in. Hang in there...I'm with you on this one!
