Guest guest
, When I hurt all over like that and feel like I'm going to lose it; I go soak in my hot tub. If I'm somewhere there is not a jacuzzi or tub I do a hot shower. It seems to help that all over pain and calm you down some. Good Luck. The answer to your ER question: I don't know. I went once, they were very nice, but all they gave me were breathing treatments for my pleurisy/bronchitis and did a bunch of tests to rule things out. No pain meds. Anyways, I just have a question. Lately iv had a few " episodes " usually in the evening or at night when I have SOOOO much pain I cant handle it, I freak out (panic attacks) crying, rolling around on the floor praying for the pain to just let up a little. Anyways if I were to go to the emergacy room could they do anything for me or would I just be wasteing my time? My husband wants to help but doesnt know what to do, so he wants to take me in. I would have to ack up the kids take them to a sitters house go to the er and wait, ID be more uncomfortable then I was to begin with. Sorry to complain but Im looking for advice. Anything would be appreciated. Guest guest
Oh yeah! Night time is so much worse for me. It is when I make sure to take my pain meds before I go to bed or else the full body burning will get me. During the day, I am really good. I can't say that I have the " rolling on the floor crying in pain " anymore though. (I used to! My back just kills me) I don't know what the ER would do except shoot you up with heavy duty pain meds...but they might think you were just coming in for a " fix " you know? If doctors are still slow to recognize FM as a legitimate syndrome, I am not sure the ER people would be any different. Besides, they are used to med runs where people come in for their boost. I worked on emergency squads and I have seen a lot in the ER. Now this is just me thinking out loud, but what if you got into a nice really warm tubby before the pains grabbed you and took your regular pain meds also before things get out of hand. That might relax your body and keep the pains from getting so bad. Make sure your hubby is nearby to help you out of the tub. Sometimes I wish I had a crane to get me out! LOL! Do you think your hubby might give you a massage? Whatever it takes to get those muscles relaxed. And Anxiety will tense those muscles too. Try to get/stay loose. Hope this helps. Guest guest
I know I will probally got lots of negitive replys to this but right now Im desperate and dont really care. I know most people will " FROWN " upon this because it is illegal in most states but I need to know. Has anyone tried the use of " POT " for pain relief. My pain meds dont work anymore and Iv had many people suggest it, including my mom. Im NOT looking to get " HIGH " just relieve some of the pain. I know someone who has used it for the relief of MS pain and has said it helps. I would just like anyones experiances with this. Thanks~
Guest guest
I don't frown upon it. I won't 'admit' to anything but it's a wonder drug for pain. If you ask me, it should be legal for fibro relief. THere isn't anything like it! I wish it was legal here, I'd have some today! mommy3xkittell wrote: > I know I will probally got lots of negitive replys to this but right > now Im desperate and dont really care. > > I know most people will " FROWN " upon this because it is illegal in most > states but I need to know. Guest guest
My son-in-law has told me that his mother uses pot to help her cope with the pain of the condition that she has, which he says reminds him of me with the fibro. I can't remember what her condition is called, though and apparently it must help her, since she has been doing this for many years. Guest guest
Montel claims it does wonders for his MS pain. He would not be able to function without it, he claims. You just have to be very, very careful not to get caught. It's going to be a long time coming before we can get medically prescribed marijuana. I hope and pray you get the relief you need and that if you try this method, you do not get arrested. Take care. Guest guest
Hi , I live in Oregon where we do have Medical Marijuana. My daughter-in-law was the first one in our family to get her legal license to have it and use it for pain. I went and saw the doctor at the clinic and he examined me and said that it would definately help me too. I now am legal too (cost $300 for a year) and it doesn't protect you from the federal government if you get caught with more than your allowed to have. The funny thing is I am not a pot smoker - never have been lol and now I am allowed to have 24 oz.s in my possesion for " personal use " . I am allowed to grow 22 plants in my house or garden and not get arrested by the local police (amazing lol). I keep trying to smoke a little at night to help relax my neck muscles but it makes me feel so paranoid that I tense up and it just defeats the purpose! my daughter in law says I need to keep smoking until I get used to it, but I can't even function around the house on that stuff- let alone try to go out in public lol. She swears that it helps her so much that she doesn't even take pain meds (Vicodin) anymore and she's holding down a full time job in a CPA's office. I can't even figure out my checkbook on the stuff lol. I can't honestly say whether it helps or not because I take a lot of pain meds and muscle relaxers, etc. Maybe the mixture of all that is my problem even though the M.D. who prescribed the marijuana for me told me to continue with all of my regular meds too. My regular doc has started me on Lyrica for my fibro, so far I can't tell if it's helping or not. Does anyone else take Lyrica? Prayers for pain free days for everyone here, Kathi from Oregon Re: just a question Posted by: " Jeanne and Dave " djgraves9497@... jeanne8663 Sat Feb 9, 2008 12:25 pm (PST) Montel claims it does wonders for his MS pain.
