Guest guest
JUST WANTED TO HELP U STOP WORRING IF U HAVE NOT YET SAUGHT A ENDOCRONOLOGIST FOR FOLLOW-UP. SOMETIMES FAM. DR. WRONG. BUT IF IT HELPS, I HAVE LIVED WITH NO THYROID OR PARA'S EITHER, MOST PERSONS HAVING THYROID REMOVED ARE LEFT WITH SOME. THIS WAS TAKEN OUT IN 77, AND I WAS VERY YOUNG, DID NOT TAKE MY MED'S EVERYDAY AS TOLD, AS DID NOT KNOW THE SERIOUSNESS OF IT, NOW I DO. I ALMOST DIED BEFORE THEY FOUND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG, I HAD WHAT THEY CALL A THYROID STORM A FEW MORE MINS. GETTING TO ER AND WOULD NOT BE HERE, YET I DID NOT FEEL SICK, JUST A HUGE THROAT. TODAY THEY REMOVE THE THYROID WITH A PILL, I HAD IT CUT OUT. BUT I SAY DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT UNTIL U SEE THE SPECIALIST AS THIS IS ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE THINGS THAT STRESS CREATES MORE ILLNESS OF THE THYROID BEST TO U. I NOW TAKE A SYNTHROID EVERY DAY AND WILL THE REST OF MY LIFE THAT IS IT. SHARON wrote: I would go to an endocronologist. They treat these things. that is where I would start. Good luck and I will pray for a good outcome. Hugs. Annie G wrote: Hashimoto's thyroiditis - I have been diagnosed with this. I was not told that it would kill my thyroid. I have not been concerned about my thyroid as I am on a low dose of medicine and was never told to be concerned. What do I need to do, what doctor can tell me more?
