Debbie - You know you are feeling this way because of having your thyroid

med taken away. I hope you can stick it out until Wed. when they check your

level and then they get you right in for treatment. Narcolepsy is when you

fall asleep instantly when you should be awake.

You can be talking and just fall asleep, or worse, driving!

I am keeping you in my prayers. Take care.

Ah yes, good 'ole Narcolepsy. Know it well Before Provigil, I would fall

asleep mid sentence or mid class while standing, when I was still teaching (I

fell and knocked my front tooth out) and as you said the worse one, while

driving. It was dx several years ago after a sleep study, which showed I have

sleep apnea too.

Before I started taking Provigil I went to a Naturopath to see what could be

done for a lot of symptoms, including fibromyalgia. I did the total detox that

lasted for months and then adding back one thing at a time and subtracting and

adding, trying to find anything that could be a cause of symptoms and in so

doing find a solution. I wasn't allergic to and didn't have a reaction from

anything. Anyway, I digress as usual, while I was there one time after the

testing was over and she was trying to think of other things to try, she told me

that the only people who get Narcolepsy have been sexually abused as children.

I found that hard to believe and talked to my psychiatrist and other doctors and

other people with Narcolepsy and that just isn't true. There is some kind of

correlation but not a big one. I discussed that with her on my next visit and

she was adamant that she was right and wouldn't even consider that it might not

be in all cases. A bit too rigid for me.

That was the last time I went there.

So that's my Narcolepsy story that you didn't ask for and really didn't need,

but I tend to run off at the mouth. I'm glad you don't have it and am sure,

since I take Synthroid too, that it is the thyroid that is making you feel this

way. I forgot why you were to stop taking it? Was it your blood tests? And

you're not seeing an Endocrinologist? It sounds like you need to take it, if

this is the way you feel without it.

Blessed be,

Marti

Hi Jeanne,

Glad you do know why I am so tired. My lab is on Tues not this Wed.

Hope the TSH is high enough to get my treatment over with. Thanks for

telling me what narcolepsy is. My husband knew what it was also.

thanks again my friend.

Hey Tigger,

I've been sleeping a lot today too. The winds are really kicking. We had some

snow but it is pretty much gone. Yesterday my family dragged me to Shaws. Then

they couldn't understand why I couldn't do anything. I was already in 10 pain. I

haven't been able to take a shower because I can't stand that long. Stepping

over the side is too much too.

Tomarrow I'll be sleeping because everyone will be at work. We have to go to H & R

Block tomarrow because the first girl messed it up. YUCK!! I hope I get the

court date tomarrow. I really need a walk in tub.

Good luck at the Rhummy. I don't see mine because she is useless. Be safe.

Hi Debbie J,

Sounds like good ole' depression which kinda goes hand and hand with fibro. My

doc has me on Cymbalta and seems to help (even though I'm still depressed from

the fibro and all the other medical problems I have lol) I ran out of it over

the weekend (I have to get samples from her office because the co-pay is

outrageous) and by today I was a blubbering basket case! But, I sure know that

feeling of not being able to get out of the recliner chair - wish I had a laptop

:-) P.S. I get samples of Provigil to occasionally and your right about the

insurance. We tried to get my insurance to cover it and they said only for

Narcolepsy.

Try to feel better,

Kathi
