Guest guest
Black Like Me was a book written in the late 60's.It is the true story of a man who dyed his skin, shaved his head and presented himself as a black man in the south. Remember this was the same time the protests against segregation were going on. Many white northerners never understood the experience of being black in this country until this book came out. Is this being made into a movie? The Piano is about a mute women or did she chose not to talk?, I don't remember, but she and her daughter were shipped off to marry a man who lived near Australia/New Zealand and she insisted on taking her piano which eventually helped her end her journeys. Excellent movie, but not a barrel of laughs.
Guest guest
I don’t think Black Like Me is being made in to a movie. I was asking about a new reality type show called “White. Black.” It is about two families (wife, husband, teen) who change the color of their skin cosmetically – they cameras follow them and also their discussions. The two families move in with each other so they have some interesting discussions. I generally hate the reality shows, but this one sparked my interest.
