Guest guest
I'm sure that if he is using VR, he is sending his stuff to an agency that has editor doing translations of VR. It is was so unsophisticated to be able to do a perfect document. That's what I'm doing now - re-doing VR transmissions into perfect documents, like you saw in the report. There's no such thing as a perfect VR document!! Suzanne Mattson Hilltop Transcription Service sburg KY
Guest guest
Sounds like it might be fun. Maybe if you talked real sweet to the doctor's they'd even point you in the right direction. I hope you'll let us know when you're going. What I'm wondering is, you think I could " accidentally " get lost until I find their in house transcriptionists and start up a little friendly chat? LOL Sure is tempting. Guest guest
I think I will give it a whirl. My appt. is the 13th. Have to be there at 7:00 a.m.....ugh...means leaving at 6:00 in rush hour. If it's any indication, I talked to two different people to get this appt. They were both VERY nice. so lets hope they are as nice at the clinic. I will let you all know if I actually get to chat with the in-house transcriptionists. Mayo also told me to get all my records from my neuro and my MRI films...got them today...boy do I love reading my own medical records....LOL Val Mayo Clinic I'm finally going to see an MS specialist at Mayo Clinic here in AZ this month. Guest guest
Good luck with your appointment Val!! With all the advances in medicine, does the Mayo have a treatment that might help? Keep us posted and remember, you're in my prayers . Did the transcriptionists do a good job on your medical records? *L* Robyn Re: Mayo Clinic > I think I will give it a whirl. My appt. is the 13th. Guest guest
Thanks Robyn, Actually my records were interesting because when I first went to him he had a transcriptionist who he replaced with a voice recognition system. The first reports were typed by her....perfect...no errors...his VR system also perfect...no errors. We actually had a talk about VR versus person and he said the only thing was the 24 turn around. That he could talk much faster to her than he can his VR, but that with his VR, he can send a report out immediately. That's why he did it. He sent me to get IV steroids....he sent that report before I ever made it to the hospital, which was across the street. I told him shame on him anyway...LOL...he laughed...thank gawd he does have a sense of humor. Val Re: Mayo Clinic > I think I will give it a whirl. My appt. is the 13th. Guest guest
Oh good luck, Val!! You are fortunate to be close enough to go to Mayo. I'm sure they hire nothing but the best in every department from clinical down to the receptionist! Do let us know how it goes - we'll all be praying for you and waiting to hear! Guest guest
Yes shame on him . But it certainly did make a fast turn around time. didn't it. I'm surprised that his VR system also made a perfect document. I had heard that they were not all that reliable. Which program does he use; did he say? Guest guest
He did not say, but he has a very clear voice...knows a lot about computers. He turned his computer screen and showed it to me, but I am not familiar with VR, so it meant nothing to me. Guest guest
That would be really neat. My sister works as a bookkeeper in a cardiologists' office. She still lives in NY and when we went to visit she was going to take me there, but they were closed. No girls were working, so we didn't even bother. A good friend of mine who comes here every time we play cards has a sister who is an MT. She also works in NY, and I have only talked to her twice on phone. I hope you check it out. Hope they are nice! Jodi Mayo Clinic I'm finally going to see an MS specialist at Mayo Clinic here in AZ this month. Guest guest
He might do his own editing. The thing I would think about if I were a physician is how much money I could make during the time I spent editing and fiddle-farting with the document! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rennie My Home Page: http://www.renesue.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Re: Mayo Clinic I'm sure that if he is using VR, he is sending his stuff to an agency that has editor doing translations of VR. Guest guest
Stay at extended stay. Its connected to the Subway and has covered parking. Mayo Clinic - Suzanne Our trip to the Mayo Clinic is coming up quickly - our appointment is Monday the 13th. I have to admit I am getting a bit nervous. Suzanne is now off of steroids for a few days now and her IBD symptoms are coming back (as predicted). She started on steroids and methotrexate at the same time to give the methotrexate time to start working; also at that time we stopped her 6MP. Can anyone tell me what to expect? She's only had a liver biopsy - do you think they will do an ERCP? She did have an MRCP that was not conclusive, so then they did the liver biopsy (3/04). She's had a colonoscopy in September and did the " camera pill " test in December, so it seems to me that those tests are recent enough that they won't repeat them ... thoughts? Guest guest
The formal name for the “camera pill” test is a Capsule Endoscopy. I can never remember that name so I call it the camera pill! It is a pill with a mini camera in it and it takes pictures every second. Suzanne had to wear a belt with a recording device on it. They then downloaded the pictures after about 8 hours. We had this test done because it was not clear whether she had Crohn’s or UC and as we get closer to deciding whether we need to remove her colon the dx seemed more important. The camera takes pictures of the small intestines which is the part of the digestive system that the endoscope and colonoscopy don’t get to. There is a paper describing this procedure at: http://www.ccfaprofessionals.org/atf/cf/%7B9BC60EE0-BE90-4E6E-8FAF-801B99E0F97F%7D/Kornbluth_Inflamm%20Bowel%20Dis_2004.pdf I am certainly hoping that I don’t have to stay in a ‘”flash back” from the 60’s hotel! I will let you know! We stayed in a hotel across the street from the hospital…it was sooooo stuck in the 60’s. Our room had orange shag carpet and even came with a rake! The fixtures in the room were just as bad, and I swear it even smelled like the 60’s. I love incense and all, but it’s not something you usually find in a hotel room. We checked out 4 other hotels thinking we’d change hotels and they were all really tasteless. Anybody stayed there lately and found the hotels to be updated a bit? Just curious. What’s the “camera pill” test?
