Guest guest
I've had the tremors or shivers in the hospital recovering from surgery. I wasn't cold, I just couldn't stop trembling. Maybe your jaw is reacting to being clenched at night? Jeanne in WI >I noticed the last two mornings when I woke up and got out of bed, my teeth >were chattering as if I was cold. Guest guest
Debra, I do that quite a bit! Some nights I wake up in the middle of the thinking I am sleeping on a bed of ice. As far as getting up I have done that alot also. It just seems like an ice box has settled in my body. Do you also have nights where you do nothing but sweat! I never know what to expect. 2 nights last week I woke up just freezing from the bottoms of my feet to the end of my nose. It is getting to the point that I am not sure what to wear to bed anymore. Sleeves and socks or a light night gown. Its like my thermostat is broken. Lori H I noticed the last two mornings when I woke up and got out of bed, my teeth were chattering as if I was cold. Guest guest
For those of you who have mentioned being cold and lower body temps - have you had your thyroid checked? Lori, when you say it is like your thermostate is broken, you may be more correct than you think. The thyroid is our bodies thermostate and when it is broken, you can get some odd reactions. I have hypothyroidism, which means that my thyroid is low and does not regulate my body temps or my metabolism. I have to take thyroid medication for life. I am not trying to say that is anyone's problem, but am just throwing it out there as a possibility. If anyone is interested in more info I would be glad to talk with you. Just e-mail me off group at randallc2004@... and put thyroid in the subject line. Thanks Christi Randall www.singingwomenoftexas.com Re: A question... please read--teeth chattering Debra, I do that quite a bit! Guest guest
Christi, I have had my thyroid checked quite a few times. As recently as last fall. I have watched my husband go through that also. He had his killed and is on the medication for the rest of his life. When I was 10 I was told by the family doc then that I had an underactive thyroid. I was treated for it back then but later on was taken off the medication and no one mentioned it again. that is why I am always having them check it. My sister also ended up with Diabetes so I have them check that also. I want to be checked for Lyme disease also but I have to have them use the right test as there are different ones for different areas. I am just broken period, but thanks for the response Christi, Lori H Christi Randall wrote: For those of you who have mentioned being cold and lower body temps - have you had your thyroid checked? Guest guest
Lori, what is your TSH reading? I am betting it is at a level that you should be getting treatment but are not as the range for " normal " is way too wide and a lot of people have to fight their doc's to get treatment.
