Guest guest
I've been tested for Thyroid issues but it always comes back normal. I'm not so sure though. I have symptoms for that as well. Have had thyroid symptoms for YEARS now. Makes sense to me that this could well be the problem. Or, one big one anyway. If I mention to my hubby that I need to eat NOW, he can take that as 2 or more hours from now. As much as I've tried to explain the diet to him he doesn't understand. If we're out and he's driving.....forever it. I may as well pass out first. Thanks soo much for your understanding and help. It means alot! ~Jenn Re: Anyone have hypoglycemia? Need help ASAP! How awful hon, you poor thing! I'm not hypoglycemic but hubby is or used to be. He had a physical at the doctor and mentioned how he goes into shakes at the first sign of hunger. He would pass out if he waited too long to eat. A year ago the doc put him on jenuvia for his pancreas, and he also has an underactive thyroid so he's on levoxyl for that. He no longer get those 'crashes' and the shakes - after ten years of marriage too. That was a first. The doc seemed to think it could be his blood sugar levels or his thyroid, or maybe both. Not sure if that is of any help, but it sure did help him by leaps and bounds. For many years if we were out and about and he said " I'm hungry " I'd say " hold out your hand " so I could see if he was shaking. If he wasn't shaking, then I knew we had time. If he was shaking, I knew we had to find him some food NOW. If you have any questions you want me to ask him, he has some compassion to spare because he totally 'gets it.' Guest guest
Another good thing is to carry hard candy. Have him chew it up, not suck on it. The sugar will get in his system really quick. You can also buy what they call Glucose tablets at a pharmacy (no script needed). They melt in your mouth for a quick sugar fix.
