home here. we also have several members in the health care industry suffering

from this fibro monster.

kitties, and a Border collie pup named . Have had fibro over 30 yrs but

only finally diagnosed in 12/2006. Also, many other health issues to go along

Hello everyone -

My name is a and although diagnosed just last year, I've

probably had this since I was in my teens. That was a whole lot of

years ago.

2007 was a very stressful year for me and I think that threw me over

the edge - I reached a point where I couldn't deal with the pain anymore.

My internal medicine doc tried a few years ago to talk about the

possibility of all my 'issues' being fibromyalgia, but I wouldn't

consider it.

I work in the medical field and believe that if you can't show me a

test result that proves I have this, then it isn't real. right.

Part of me feels that I should toughen up and quit whining...that's

the part in total denial of the diagnosis.

The other part hurts so badly, is so scared and desperately needs

others likewise afflicted to talk to! The other day, my sister asked

me how I was feeling and I told her that I didn't know because I don't

'check in' with myself too often. When I do, I realize how badly I

hurt. Then I wonder why I'm so tired all the time!

My 3 children are grown - 2 are married. I have one adorable 2 1/2 yr

old grandson that is the light of my life. Another grandchild will be

born in August. Being a grandma is so awesome!

I've been reading posts to the group and so much is familiar.

I'll attempt to add my '2 cents' to threads and hope to do so

appropriately. Reading that this group is like a family is so comforting!

I look forward to 'talking' with people who actually know what I'm

going through!!

take care!

1. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as

to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some

treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain

health conditions or just dangerous in general.

2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be

afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation

better.

3. To unsubscribe the e-mail is:

4. Also, it is not uncommon for more than one member to be feeling bad at the

same time when it comes to flares and b/c of that potentially take something

another member says the wrong way. And that includes the things that one member

may find funny (even if it's laughing at fibro itself) even though we who deal

with illness whether one such as fibro or multiple illnesses try to keep a sense

of humor.

5. Pls let's be gentle with each other, and if you are having a bad day pls let

us know so that we can do our best to offer our support.

Have a nice day everyone.
