Guest guest
I agree with both of you, Debra and N. It is nobody's right to dictate how anyone should look or what they should eat. Many overweight people have been proven to be in good health. Many thin people are not healthy. But more than all of this, it chaps my butt that the government thinks it has the right to decide who should be served what and what restaurants should serve what. As you have said it is a person's choice to eat healthy or not; it a choice that the government should not have the right to take away from anyone. And who decides what people to serve and what people not to serve? What next, grocery stores won't be able to sell junk food to people they determine are overweight, Who decides what is junk food? And who decides that someone is overweight? Will they have a height and weight scale at the checkout counter? Who decides what height and weight makes someone overweight or obese? This is a messed up bill all the way around. Congress regulates enough. I don't want them delving into what I do or don't eat. We all deserve to make choices in this world. Keep them out of my kitchen! Just my 2 cents. Everyone take care, Marti debra van ness wrote: I agree. And it should be your right or anyone else's to NOT change their diet if they do not WANT to. It is rediculous. And people with this damn fibro crap don't have alot of choices sometimes because it makes us so damn tired and full of pain we can't begin to fathom cooking " low fat " . Hell, sometimes I have a hard time just heating left overs. Bottom line, it is our choice to make, not the government or the restaraunts. They should have the high fat food and some low cal choices just as most of them do now. They should not be forced to cook a certain way. And I have learned to accept my body the way it is now. I don't give a shit about losing weight. I am not morbidly obese and even if I was, I think I still have a right to accept me for who I am. If the rest of the world can't, that is their problem, not mine. I will never look like I did when I was 17. This body has been through pain, suffering, stress, and birthing children. So let it be. It is me and I don't care what anyone thinks about my few extra pounds. And fibro is not caused by being fat either. Alot of people have this disease that are FAR from fat. It even strikes people in great physical condition in the prime of life. So I don't need any doctor or anyone to tell me I hurt because I am overweight. They are ignorant. hugs, Debra V. I'm sorry but nobody who is overweight can blame any other person, company, resturant, etc for them being overweight. It is OUR fault not Mcs because they cook hamburgers, cheeseburgers and fries. I have been fat all my life and NEVER have I even thought of blaming it on anyone else or any type of businses that serves food. Being fat is not a disease, it is not the responsibility of anyone else to monitor our food, it is MY responsiblity to eat heathly and watch what I eat. Now, I know that I don't do that like I should because I am lazy and I don't want to come home and cook from scratch every night so we tend to eat more frozen processed food than I should and I know that I eat more high calorie food than I should, but it's my fault that I have the lack of willpower to stick to a diet, NOT a resturants!
