Guest guest
Hello,i have had fibro for 25 yrs along with all the other health problems that go along with it. I have severe neck, shoulder and back pain! I'm trying to keep this short. I was in a wreck about 2 months ago.I was the passenger and we were stopped at a red light and were rearended with the driver going 45mph! I did have my seat belt on yet i still hit the dash with my forehead, slammed the right side of my head on the passenger window and was jerked something awful! I went by ambulance to the hospital and ended up with whiplash, cracked off teeth, lumps on my head and my neck popped so badly! I knew i was in trouble as soon as we got hit!! I have had mri's,ct scans,x-rays etc. I follwed up with my neurologist a couple times and had to go back in to see her yesterday because the pain is excruciating!! Over the years the doctors have wanted me to try trigger point injections but i was so scared to have them for fear something would go wrong! I hated the idea of having needles stuck into the back of my head and neck! I decided i had no other choice so yesterday we did the trigger point injections into the occipital area of my head, down both sides of my neck, the back of my neck and all across and into my shoulders. She injected me 15 times!!! OMG....i thought my pain was excruciating b/4 and now i cannot even put my shirt on or lay down or have anything touch the back of my head, neck or shoulders!! I called the doctor ans she said to take 6 vicodine extra strength a day and go back in to see her on monday. I have big swollen lumps on my neck and across my shoulders!! My whole body is throbbing even my face! This is rediculous and all i can do is cry!!!! I hurt soooo bad!!! Has anyone had any experience with the trigger point injections?? Have they helped?? Did you hurt worse after them?? How many did you have at a time?? What did they use to inject you?? I was injected with 40mg of depo-medrol mixed with .25% of marcaine. I take alot of different meds for pain yet nothing is helping at all!!!!! HELP PLEASE!!!!!!! Syndi
Guest guest
My friend was in a terrible wreck just like you and she has FM as well. She broke her neck in the accident and had a closed head injury and has wicked bad pain every day. She went to the Rheumy and he injected her trigger points on her shoulders and back and it really helped her a lot. She also has the Novocain patches and they really help too. After a car accident, it takes SO long for your body to get back to normal. You have been turned every which way and all of the muscles are rebelling. I was rear ended by a snow plow and I know how not fun it can be to have a car wreck. Ruthie
Guest guest
I had trigger point injections last spring on a weekly basis for about a month. They did not help me whatsoever. I was disappointed to say the least. I followed them up with injections directly into the spine. Neither did these injections help. Shortly after the last set of injections I began to lose my hair and eventually lost almost 2/3's of my hair volumn. It is just now beginning to return.
